So, I just told a guy I'd give this to him for $200. We meet up tomorrow.

Was this a good deal? or should I ask for more (has all but one scratch and sniffs, they smell like dunk. save for the mole one, smells like spicy honey).

Just seems like a good time to sell since it's coming out on VC soon.

Also, collection/rare games thread.
What games do you have? what do you want? found anything good at dem flea markets?

>> No.477716

The price may drop after the initial release, for those that only want to buy it to play legally. But the pool of collectors can only grow after more people play it virtually. The price should eventually start going up again. Which is silly, it isn't even rare. 140k sales in the US alone. No blockbuster but not worth those prices.

Might as well cash-in now, prices are gonna plummet once it comes out on Wii-U, though it could steadily go back up in price after people dl it and want to own a physical copy (see Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid)

Ugh, this. the VC announcement is the only thing making me want to sell.

I got this game x-mass 95 and my mom, sister and I sat and played it all day.

But on the flip if price drops to $100 then I'm gonna kick myself for not selling for $200 and just re-buying for a $100 less.

>So, how often do they break? are they as bad as the jaguar CD? easy to fix?

Model 1 CD's are more prone to stop working because they have an opening and closing disc tray, while the model 2 has a flip-door. These things are getting old though, and the lasers could go at any time without a little TLC. CD-X has a similar design to the Model 2 CD but they are expensive but will probably last you longer as CD-X models are generally newer that standalone CD's.

Also recommend testing the model in a physical location before the the purchase is made, just to make sure. AND make sure it's an actual Sega CD game and not a music CD, as worn out models will try reading games as music CD's when they're about to go kaput.

Can you burn games like you can with the dreamcast and Sega CD?

>> No.478191

I'm curious to wonder why people think Earthbound with bounce back when the game goes digital.

This never happeend to a lot of games. Look at Marvel vs Capcom 2. Ico, Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence, ect.

I know I'm listing off PS2 games but I think it would still apply. Earthbound is outrageously priced. It can only hurt it if it goes digital. Thank, fucking, god.

>> No.478231

because all those games you listed are still kinda pricy.

But I think it'll bring the games price down to earth like what happened with FFVII.

You still see copy's of FFVII for $70 (hurr) but you can find it for $20+

That has nothing to do with the price. Earthbound's prince is purely a demand>supply deal. Earthbound isn't rare at all. Once VC lowers demand the price will drop dramatically.

MGS3 is cheap as shit now dude, it used to be through the roof before more copies were printed ala MGS Collection for PS2, and the rereleases for 3DS, PSP and PS3.

MvC2 does still have some value, especially the Dreamcast and Xbox versions, but it has dropped since people can play it on 360/PS3 now. What that other poster said is probably what's going to happen to Earthbound.

No and no. It's because it's a good (but not $200 good), well known game by Nintendo, it's uncommon, and people everywhere with little interest in actual retro games who are picking up on it because it's trendy in whatever fucked up little circles they're part of want to take pictures with it.
