Does anyone else play these?

They're fun as hell

I fucking adore the G&W series, some of the best handheld games you can get next to Tetris. They're that good.

>STILL no all in one game & watch collection

I don't even care if it's just the classic versions. This bums me out.

>> No.4776448

I had Game & Watch Gallery 3 and it was easily my favourite game for the GBC.

I think that's probably the best one of the retro ones

It was one of the few GB games I had as a kid, I can still play Egg like a master. It's just perfect, hypnotic fun.

>> No.4776671

I never got the appeal of Game & Watch stuff. It's too simplistic.

Easy to pick up and play to keep your hands busy for a while. It's what the original devices were designed for. I'm not about to take super mario land to the dentists office where I might need to stop halfway through a level when my name is called.

Nintendo likes to sleep on these things for some reason.

A real shame, moreover when the last good Wario platffomer was Wario Land 4, which was released in 2001.

The modern versions on the game and watch gallery games are the best way to play them

I'm surprised Nintendo never did that on the DS/3DS

In a way, I'm glad they haven't. All things considered, Nintendo has re-released a lot of stuff more than once already. Plus, I'm sure the new generation of gamers don't even know what G&W are outside of smash bros.
It would make more sense to take advantage of the mini console market and start recreating G&W handhelds for scalpers to buy and fix prices on. More profit to be made that way.

All three of them on GBC are really fun.

I loved Modern Oil Panic, Donkey Kong, and Bridge.

My first game for the GBC was Game&Watch 3, I still play it every now and then. The OST and sound design are great, the game does a good job showing off the sound chip.

These games make me weirdly nostalgic. It's nice seeing the Mario characters in "normal" situations like being chefs and firefighters. Brings me back to when the Mario Bros. were just plumbers from Brooklyn.

bought this game because of the cover. Disappointed I couldn't play Bowser.

It's pretty good, but I don't think most children really like these types of games (anymore) despite what old fucks may say otherwise.

There are thousands of these types of games on the app store though. The secret is that they have to be insanely difficult and have a progression. G&W games only problem is that the games are really slow and boring until you reach 500-700 points.
