Play 'em chronologically. Ignore people who say 1-3 are bad, they simply are not. DOSbox is fine, the games run perfectly through it. Skip Keen Dreams and the GBC game. Dreams is just a mediocre throwaway installment with the pogostick removed and this awful thrown weapon instead of your laser gun. Certainly playable, but nowhere near the quality of the main series. GBC Keen is just hot garbage, avoid it. Have fun!

Just do them in order, and don't forget about keen dreams (episode 3.5). Dosbox is fine for playing them.
