Is there a place where I can buy them, preferably the original Apple II versions. It took me a lot of searching and still couldn't find anything leaving me with the only option to buy an Apple II which is quite pricey and most likely I wouldn't buy it.

Why didn't you play and complete them back when they were released?

>> No.4748982

There are several copies of 1 and 2 for the NES and 5 for the SNES on Ebay. A couple dos copies as well.

Because I was not even born back then.

I'm aware of that but I want the apple version as it is the original and most difficult one.

No, you really don't. I know you're more interested in "muh legit eighties authenticity" than the actual games but you really don't want the Apple versions.

>muh legit eighties authenticity
What does that even mean? This is the last game I will think of using for any kind of 80s time back machine.

The DOS version is much harder due to the bugged level ups.

I'm sure he can stick 5.25" floppies in his MacBook.

Legally? You either play them at your convenience or you can collect retro games. Your choice. None of the developers are going to make money from you purchasing this game in the 21st century .

>> No.4749491

Play the C64 versions on VICE with x128; they're the best ones to use. Don't have the DOS versions' bugs or the Apple's clunky interface.

Don't take your objection to piracy to this retarded level and then complain about prices.

The games are from the early 80s for christs sake. Just download and emulate them, or better yet play the later versions that have actual graphics and a good interface. If you REALLY want the authentic wizardry experience, buy literally any apple ii model and the BMOW floppy emu. Yeah, its expensive, but its cheaper than buying an apple ii and wiz 1-5.

No. You want a IIe for this shit. Common, relatively cheap, and good reliability. Get that, floppy emulator, and download the images onto it. Enjoy.

>legally

How much corporate cock have you been programmed to suck, exactly?

These games are no longer sold by the people who made them, or by whoever might own the rights at this point.

There is literally no reason whatsoever for you to try to find a genuine copy other than to jerk off to its presence in your collection.

If you want to play them, just download them from abandonware sites like everyone else has been doing for the past 20 years.

Just play the PS1 version with all the first 5 games mate, which has actual graphics. It's not like any of the devs are getting the money for the game 18 years on. Who cares about legality at this point?

It is proof of how people in the 80s had a lot more free time on their hands. You could spend two years trying to beat one game.

>> No.4749984

Then why does First Star Software keep sending abandonware sites C&D letters for having Boulder Dash?

>> No.4750000

>>4749913
or maybe they just had fewer distractions? You could probably spend two years on one game too if it was the only one you reliably had and if you were into it.
