Hey /vr/, what's a good action/platformer where you play as a chick and you stab, shoot, or smash shit. Stuff like Valis, Alisia Dragoon, or Popful Mail.

Ok /vr/, you seem to talk about emulation quite a bit, so help me out.
I used to use mednafen for almost everything, but that emulator seems to have latency issues with big LED TVs that other emulators do not (it does for me at least, an issue I don't have with other emulators)

So I want to try RetroArch for SNES and NES, hopefully with the bsnes core and FCEUX core. The thing is, after going through the basic configuration, I can only get it to work through the GUI, I haven't been able to do the usual "run game.smc into retroarch.exe" and get it to work. I'd like to run this from XBMC, so I need to at least be able to run a game, on either core depending of the kind of rom, through usual command line options.

Any suggestions?

I've actually been interested in getting a PC Engine. I've looked into it and it seems that there were a lot of different versions of the system, but it seems to me that the best one is the Duo? The first version with the headphone jack. Also since it seems every game was Japanese made, should I even bother with a Turbo Graphix version?

I'm a huge fan of Valis and the anime heroine games of the early 90's. Valis meant so much to me because Yuko Ahso was such a valiant heroine.

There is an MSX version of Psycho World that has been translated in English, which is the best version imo. It's like a mix of Mega Man and El Viento with the Phantasy Star character designer.
The MSX version of Valis II is also pretty unique, since you can change outfits and fly in certain stages. But I haven't played it to know if it aged well.

Everyone's forgetting Xena! Xena is THE archetypal warrior princess that everyone in America knows.

The PX1 version seems pretty cool, made by EA, you get to kill male guards and female Amazons. Its cool how the game follows her chakram when she throws it.

Theres an N64 fighting game, it looks pretty cool for a quick 3d fighter.

And there's a Xena GBC game, it looks a lot like Zelda. I actually remember this game along with Quest for Camelot were somewhat popular because they were Zelda clones.

Not Athena Full Throttle, but a swimming game with different unlockable swimsuits that give your girls different abilities.

The game's name is "Moeyo! SNK Gals Osuin Kataoukai" and you can play as Athena, Mai, Leona, Chan-Cham, Blue Mary, Kula and Iroha.

.jar format, resolution 240x320, I don't know about phone compatibility.

You'll need Dosbox to play this. It's a disk image so you can't run it like a normal program, you have to use the included .bat file.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/65yzpv

Z is jump, X is attack Z+X does an item crash.
Supposedly you can do a normal special weapon attack (that only costs one mana), and you can run. If anyone can figure out how to do those things that'd be great. I'm currently stuck on level 2 because there's a part where you need to make a running jump and I can't.

Well it's not everyone that need an i7@3.7GHz multicore MEGAHURTZFest to work. Also, some business still use Atari and Amiga computers for stuff like Sound engineering and TV broadcasting. If you like to have a Turbo-Beast PC, it's up to you, just let other people have their 7MHz Amiga 500 to do a serious job, they don't alway need the lastest of the lastest feature to do what they have to do. If I had the possibility and technical knowledge, I would have made my Amiga my main computer too.
