What's the cheapest way to get Pseudo Saturn up and running? I can find pic related for as low as $29 shipped. Modchips and custom Pseudo Saturn carts, usb dev carts, etc. seem to be more in the $50+ range.

I was able to get a working Saturn for $20 (best deal I've had on anything for a couple years) and it feels silly to pay more than the cost of the console for an accessory.

Actually for the year this was released, it's not very good. In 96 we had Ocarina of Time, so this shitty 2d Zelda knockoff was pretty disappointing

I can tell you how to play NiGHTS.

Become child, get mugged by nightmare creatures, walk into jester, fly around 2D plane, get blue spheres, press A to invoke Sanic and go fast while drilling into enemies and trying not to bounce off the walls, fly in circles to collect things easier and destroy more enemies, fly into see-through container, collect shiny thing, do NOT fly into starting point until timer runs low, collect all of the things and fly through all of the loops in as many non-stop streaks as possible, when you go into the multi-colored loop and the music changes, press triggers to spin around, because that's a good trick, THEN fly into starting point before time runs out, repeat 3 times, fly into boss arena and figure the rest of that shit out on your own. I warn you that going for higher scores in the main game is far more fun than the bosses, and two of those bosses are especially bullshit. Also, the game multiplies your score depending on how fast you beat them. Main game feels more like it belongs in the arcade or on a modern handheld than a console game.

If you go for it, good luck. It's an acquired taste.

gungriffon, baroque, quake, the best version of RE1, solar eclipse, shining the holy ark, dragon force, and strikers 1945 II are great games for the saturn

Panzer Saga (Brilliant RPG with dragon battles similar to the Airship battles in Skies of Arcadia. Extremely short for an RPG because they trimmed out all the bullshit like grinding and a stupid story that drags on and on)
Elevator Action Returns (Arcade port but there are graphics bugs in MAME),
Magic Knight Rayearth (Same lead director as Phantasy Star IV)
Saturn Bomberman (Best in the entire series)
Thunder Force V (fucking shootbang)
Bulk Slash (batshit mecha fighty action thing)
Keio Flying Squadron 2 (Cool platformer with nice 2d graphics. Much better than Astal)
Sexy Parodius (Another arcade port, MAME version is broken and missing heaps of graphics so play this port instead)
Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru (Ninja action goodness)

Avoid with all your heart:
Albert Odyssey (Shitty working designs translation and voice acting, awful writing/story/dialogue, gameplay like it was made by a bunch of students for their first year project)

The 50 characters are usable in arena mode, which is a huge amount of fun but a relatively small part of the game.

There are whole genres of games that aren't really any good in single player mode, but excellent in multi. Guardian Heroes isn't on the level of a great fighting game, but it's loads of fun for relaxed playing with a group.
