depends what you want. if you want belt scrollers it's pretty shitty apart from the River City Ransom remake

Here's some of the cream of the crop

Bonk 2
Bomberman 93 and 94
New Adventure Island
Ys IV Dawn of Ys
Legend of Xanadu I and II
Parasol Stars
Soldier Blade
Salamander
SonSon II
Wonder Boy 3 Dragon Trap
Snatcher

NeoNectaris the sequel to Military Madness its Japan only but its got the same UI as military madness so its 100% playable. Its soooooooo damn good though nobody ever talks about it it really makes you master the mechanics of the game. More units more maps just improves on military madness which was already a great game

Oh yeah as you can see by the title screen it includes the full first game as well I totally forgot because its been a while since I played

The original is much better because NN takes too long with some of its animations. Some levels are just impossible too. I said it.

Military Madness doesn't have animation skips or enemy turn skips either.

Turn skips? Are you saying NN glitches out and skips the enemy's turn randomly?

>> No.4697916

>>4697861
in military madness, you are forced to watch the computer make all of its moves, including combat animations. it makes the later levels even more grueling. you have no option to skip these or fast forward, except on an emulator

Oh...well don't I feel smart? Thanks for clearing that up. Yeah, that can be a tad irritating, but I tend to dim the monitor during its turns when playing on a CRT. It's one of the few classic games that I prefer to play on an LCD.

I think the best part of the game are the miracle wins, the wins where you should have given up and started over, but you persevered and turned it all around. I've mastered all but a few levels in the 17+ stage range.

On a related note, does anyone have a good place to buy replacement D-pad rubbers? Ebay search doesn’t turn anything up for PCE/TG. Mine is pretty worn out and needs replacing.
