i don't like the wobbly, pixelated textures and the lack of antialiasing the ps1 has.
And it really depends on the dev, most of the disney/activision games look better on ps1, but midway/acclaim games look better on n64

Well, it's all situational and comes down to the individual coders and the game. All this retroactive console war bullshit is pretty weak. Nintendo
and Sony are both Kyoto yakuza and the "wars" were orchestrated from the start. If you really believe the "Nintendo Playstation" was a real corporate conflict and not simply an intentional misdirect to switch Sega out for yet another deep state puppet show, you might just be retarded.

Eh, that one is also manipulated, kinda. In that part of the game, you get buildings destroyed from the city, unless you're quick to take down Tron's robots, or if you pay Zenny in order to rebuild the city.
On the right screen, the N64 one, there's less buildings around because of that, not because they aren't there on the N64 version.
Still, it's true that the drawing distance is worse on N64, but that's still a tricky pic, making the N64 ver look emptier on purpose.
The real thing is also this: >>4695108

>> No.4696620

>>4695275
The dreamcast version was the best version of Spider-man, it used better models for the characters. IIRC, the extra shoulder buttons in the ps1 version allowed you to do a grab move and use an invisibility powerup on one of the costumes. Other than that, they were pretty useless.

>> No.4696637

>>4696635
>the point is to show the draw distance and the sharper image on the PS1
Right, but it's still done so in a meticulous way to give the PS1 advantage by not having all the buildings destroyed.
Also, I don't know who made that picture, for all I know those could be on emulator too, displayed on a CRT.
"Sharper image"; I dunno, Legends on PS1 has its own issues too. Best looking version is PC, and I'd pick N64 over PS1.

It's obviously to show the fog, not number of buildings. If they had to remove stuff to save space they wouldn't have started with the library. Having played both versions a few times the draw distance on the 64 version is abysmal. Nothing like fighting in the overworld and not being able to see an enemy til your within range of a high damge attack. It's not THAT bad but it's pretty close when the ps version doesn't rely entirely on sound affects to let you know an enemy is close(ruins aside). You can see tanks pretty far in the distance, and see much further undeeground than the 64 version.

Because usually third party companies dont have the resources and time to be compressing shit to make their games more efficient. So since the N64 dev costs were so high rather than compress textures they straight up deleted some. And i dont blame them one bit, because there was no reason to use cartridges in fucking 1995.

NBA Hangtime was the best on the N64 outside of the arcade. The other PSX version was terrible in just about every aspect. The music may be more clear, but it is not worth the halftime song to buy a specific version of the game. I have the PC version as well, and its been a long time, but I think the 64 is better then that also.
