those top 10 genesis game lists are probably spot on, the genesis has a lot of garbage on it and people already know the few good games. it's really sad to admit that, but it's true. If you aren't playing Sonic The Hedgehog, you're more than likely being shitty games on it.

Have you played Ranger X, Kid Chameleon, Dynamite Headdy, Ristar, and Rocket Knight Adventures?

I mean, I'm not going to say these are games you've never heard of, but they might not be the first games you hear about.

There are no bad games on the Genesis.

Just getting into genesis so this thread is relative to my interests. I have a model 1 genesis with the expansion port and HD graphics. I want to add a stereo jack to the back of the unit that bypasses the headphone amp/slider. I see things online about soldering leads directly to the audio chip but I see some people say your gonna need a OP amp with it.

TLDR - What's the best way to add an audio jack to the back of a model 1 genesis?

I don't think the front port sounds all that good. The official av cable might be mono only but that mono sounds better then the front stereo jacks. Front jack sounds like it's blown out.

The output will sound the same whether you mutilate the back, front, side, top or bottom of your console. The key is where you pull the sound from. The best place is the headphones after the volume control. But if that sounds bad to you your system is fucked and no standard advice will help. Except the standard advice that it's entirely possible that you're completely deluded about it sounding bad and just have a console mutilation fetish.

I modded mine with rca ports. First time to do any sort of modding. Made the wires a bit too long now its hard to put the lid back on so next time ill make them shorter

Genesis library isn't that extensive to house some hidden gems once you take out actually popular games that end up on these Top 10 list and shitty titles or ports. I do find Warsong to be generally overlooked, though. No idea why they didn't go with Langrisser from the get-go.

The first one is OK but its really slow and the RNG with the presents is really off-putting. The second one is one of the best 16-bit platformers, in my opinion.
