I’d recommend this bad boy.

Any problems with this? I have the famicom replica (fc30) and it works great and connects without problems. The reason I don't like using it is because the gold decal got scratched and worn out after a couple days.

This one doesn't have any stickers so it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, the input lag is absolutely horrible. If you want a good allround gamepad get the Logitech F310. It's very affordable and doesn't have any major faults.

I don't know why people keep recommending Xbox controllers. The d-pads are fucking awful.

Dualshock 3. A 4 is fine if you want it to work with everything on Steam too, but ideally, you want a Dualshock 3.

I use these on my PS4/PS3 and 360, both work on PC too. They're pretty good for anything retro. If what you're playing requires analog, I'd use either PS3,PS4,360 or One controllers.

yes and no
the analog stick is just mapped to the dpad, but that being said the only N64 games worth playing (OOT and MM) don't use the dpad at all and aren't hindered by non analog movement.
It's worth it to get a more natural button positioning when playing.

that's what i use but it's not really worth the price difference. The quality is just as cheap as the regular controller. The bumpers and sticks are damaged easily. I like the weird dpad though, it's great for diagonal inputs.

For Android I got a HandJoy NPro 2. Just wanted something with all the buttons on which I can fit my phone in both landscape and portrait modes. It's a mixed bag, I've had no issue getting it to work but there's a fair bit of input lag variance which is just 10 times worse than a steady lag, and the left analog occasionally gets stuck pointing up. Overall I'm satisfied but I'm in the market for something next-level, all the functions but more reliable and maybe with a USB connection to fix the lag.

Hmm. I got an SF30 Pro for use with a Chromebook (Chromebooks make great emulation machines IF you can get a fucking control pad to work). The SF30 build quality is excellent, but the way it works is absolute bullshit. There are lots of weird quirks to the way it works which aren't documented in the manual. Using it for android emulators is EXTREMELY hit and miss. Half the time the fucker isn't even recognised as a control pad by the machine. If you accidentally press the wrong key combination it swaps all the key mappings round. The bluetooth performs fine with SNES9EX and FPSE, but appalling lag with MD.Emu.

You can use it as a USB controller and it works fine, IF you can set it up correctly. Mine has been stuck in bluetooth only mode for days, can't figure out how to get it to be recognised again over USB.

The issue is how BT works now. Android/Ios have pretty messy inconsistency as of 2014 and later devices (power saving bullshit). My Nexus 6 works fine for BT gamepads (including Switch pro) but my Pixel C has a few second delay for some and noticeable delay for others. I use use wired if I am playing Android. This is the same with my old shield and nexus 9.

As for Ios I ended up abandoning it for anything meaningful and played Monster Hunter with a Nimbus by steelseries since it was the least ass of the Mfi controllers.

I have one I can say they feel like shit.

The thumbsticks are loose and they have huge deadzones in the middle.

The d-pad barely even feels like its attached at all. It's just floating above the rest of the controller somehow.

The triggers are incredibly unsatisfying to pull. They have very little resistance to them and barely have any room to move.

The face buttons are alright but kinda mushy.

The rest of the buttons (like under the thumbsticks and on the shoulders) are the tactile clicky type buttons that have a fair amount of resistance to them so those are good but the thumbsticks like to move around when you push on them so it's a little annoying there.
