LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT A PLAYER'S GUIDE.

The complaints about this temple.

Oh no I have to put the iron boots on and off all the time.

I don't know where I'm going everything looks
to similar.

People always make out this temple was a big deal but it never was. Or am I just in the minority?

Is the thread you made on /v/ not enough for you?
It's still up.
And it is really more annoying/tedious than hard. I only remember being stuck one time because I did not pick up a small key from a chest before or after you get the long hookshot. Ended up having to retrace my steps until I found it.

>> No.4658953

>>4658874
God forbid you have to use your brain and a little bit of memory to navigate a complex 3D space. The iron boots nonsense is mildly annoying though. The 3DS version fixes that anyway. This and the Forest Temple are the best dungeons in the game.

>> No.4658956

No. Absolutely false.
I played oot for the first time a year ago and didn't need a guide at any point for any dungeon or temple. I was worried when I got to the Water temple because of the memes online, but it's literally nothing.

yes, it's one of the mandatory sidequests in order to get the good ending (god mask)

Not him, but I faintly remember that guy. How do you see him, lense of truth?
Not sure I found the guy by myself at the time. Probably not.

it makes me proud knowing I beat it without one and in fairly decent time I guess since you're saying it was "literally impossible" for you and you're not severely mentally challenged granted you're using a computer.

there's no reason to ever use it outside of snowhead so it's odd you have to use it in Ikana

The Forest and Shadow Temples were far more puzzling to me than the Water Temple. The Water Temple is boring and tedious because of swapping boots all the time and taking forever to cycle back to various places via water level raising/lowering, but it’s not particularly difficult.

In terms of difficulty to navigate/finish:

Forest Temple
Shadow Temple
Jabu Jabu’s Belly
Spirit Temple
Water Temple
Fire Temple
Dodongo Cavern
Deku Tree
Ganon’s Tower (gold gauntlets are kind of bullshit to know to find but that’s it)
Ice Cavern

Though even the hardest dungeons in the game are pretty tame by Zelda standards. Links Awakening, the Oracle games, and twilight princess all have several dungeons harder than any in ocarina.

>> No.4659090

when i was kid , i quit there too hard.

but come back as adult without guide. not that hard, almost seem linear / can see the route / what the developer trying to do, little backtracking if you pay attention

Why the Shadow Temple? It's the most linear dungeon in the game.

It’s been a while since I played but I distinctly remember the boat room towards the end giving me trouble with me forgetting to do something before getting on it and then getting stuck on what to do after leaving the boat. The Forest Temple was just generally getting lost, for me.

Same, with the Forest Temple. At a certain point I always forget what to do, even though I've played the game a ton. Keeps at least one part of the game fresh I suppose.

I had more trouble with shadow and spirit tbqh. Or I just lost interest in vidya and started trying to get pussy.

>> No.4659110

I beat OoT exactly one time. That's all I could stand.
I don't even remember the Water Temple though. Just like the moving barrel in Carnival Night Zone I never knew it was supposed to be hard until I saw you faggots complaining about it

>> No.4659123

>>4659103
Yep, the Forest and Spirit Temples are really the only part of the game I look forward to on replaythroughs of the game. Forest is always a decent challenge without a guide, and the Spirit Temple while not particularly challenging nails atmosphere and pacing better than most dungeons in the entire series. Ocarina probably isn’t even in my top five Zelda’s but the Spirit Temple is among my favorite dungeons in the series for sure.

if you asked me 2 days ago I'd say no, because the little floaty platforms and unblocked passageways in the main room are a good indicator of where to go next.

BUT

Im an oldfag now and when I recently played it I complained like old man Mr. Wilson because half the silver keys you need for that FUCK DUNGEON are hidden. NIntendo guide doesnt even guide you towards them, u just have the tally them off the map as u pick them up....

>> No.4659882

I don't get why people think this temple is so hard, the first time I played this game in a blind run it wasn't any harder than any other temple.

People just have problems finding the tile behind the chest?

I forgot to mention I only try unlocking everything once I've passed the game which most often requires online walk throughs. Back then it was just stuff I read on forums. Some stuff was really misleading.

Also I felt stupid not knowing there were extra levels in Starfox 64. I had no clue the game had alternative levels as a kid. I only found out after letting a neighbor who lived by me borrow the game. I'm sure he used a walk through to unlock all the levels. He would always show me stuff he found about games online when he came over.

But you can see the whole system on the path screen... All those rendered planets don't really look like decorations.
Or are you talking about the warps?
