Honestly I thought it was already offensive when they charged $40 when every other DS game cost $30 for a barely changed 15 year old game. It was literally a "we know you'll pay that price because fuck you" tax.

The irony is that this was supposed to be a port of the mobile version, which was good looking and had new translations BUT was online-only.

Then someone madly in love with the SuperEagle emulator filter at Square smeared it all over the assets AND the rendered screen inequally as the defining feature of the PC version, and ported it back to the mobile version retroactively ruining it.

Even the translation files are encrypted for anyone who wants to take the only good thing about this version and use it elsewhere (to idk, uncensor that snes version or add languages to it?)

It's like all these CT re-re-re-releases are some kind of inside joke. They are always worse than the original, but I guess Square is well aware of the Undertale-tier fanbase this game has.

a lot of the extra content is unnecessary trash, the improved translation is the only thing really worth playing it for. I like chrono cross but they didnt need to change the feelgood ending of CT for it

Those extra areas they added to the DS port were absolutely horrendous. Must've run up and down that gay mountain 20 times.
