The problem is that they're not a danger at a distance, and they move super slow. Arach's are good in a large mass when defending something big, like a bfg or exit or something, but Mancubi are not very effective at anything once you learn that strafing is key.

Thus from that, you can gather that they're oftentimes good as a quick ambush in a tight space, a big meaty threat a lot more dangerous than a few imps. Imagine you're forced to go down a dark hallway, then the door slams shut behind you towards the end, and two Mancubi appear in your face and in your path.

They're not challenging to deal with but yeah, moderate distance really isn't any projectile monsters strong suit. Unless you plant down like 10 of them in a line though. Then the Mancubus wall becomes very disconcerting.

Finally thought up a fix for the laser, it doesn't break when you move your mouse while aiming anymore.

Right now though I'm trying to rebalance the rest of the weapons and, specifically, trying to nerf the spread guns' killing power mid-long range. What I'm looking for is maybe some way to transform them into a weaker projectile or just straight up lower their damage directly after they've been in the air long enough. Any DECORATE wizards out there that could point me in the right direction?

I agree, some of the balance changes I don't like such as the leap attacks by the imps (makes it so you usually swap damage when going melee which makes your fists a bit more useless against them).

Though I like what was done with specters with the floating eyes and also that both specters and demons aren't utterly helpless to you if you just constantly bait their attack.

I personally like the over the top gore and the sound effects that go with it, but I don't care for the voice clips or the fatalities.

On the Brutal Doom thing, I've been working on just taking his mod and undoing the ketchup changes and balancing the guns out a bit...

Kinda a pain in the ass, but the weapons are great, and so's the animations/executions/else. The only thing that gets to me is the excessive gore, and not because it's "ermahgerd too bloody" but because it's comical, not gory.

Love the chunkier sounding/acting weapons and other stuff though.

I don't have it with me. More or less, when you jump in, it's like being slow, turning a fly cheat on, it turns down the brightness, and the textures are transparent. You can even choose a non-water texture to make it look funny, like you jumped into a block of semi-liquid concrete.

It's kinda what it sounds like it 'pegs' the textures to the upper or lower area of the wall (upper being from the ceiling going down type stuff, while lower being platforms pushing upwards), it can be really helpful for texture alignment when the sectors the textures are attached to are at different heights to each other.

Make a space jam wad with the toons and monstars useable in vanilla. Make different moves have damage properties toward enemies and make slam dunking a huge bfg style explosion. Need Doombuilder 2 help.

I'm trying to make a trim around a pit so it looks like the floor has sort of been ripped away and there's the cement slab exposed under it, I'm trimming the edge to show this however when I carefully draw the sector around the edge of the line, I cant select just it and instead it also selects the other sector as well, see how they both highlight orange?

How can I fix this? Make sectors tools not working.

Yep, zDoom. 2.6.1 made the job for me, it may lag like a motherfucker after the last bossfight, but you're allowed to use cheat commands to fix that. I'm not sure if they'll fix that in future releases

And I think you should use an specific SVN build of GZDoom in order to play it smoothly, go check the thread in the zDoom forums, they specified which version you must use and I can't remember which was it

Also I was thinking about a room in which you had to follow a path, the path would be obvious but there wouldn't be anything obstructing you to go off the path. The instant you veer off the path you would trigger a trap and die thus you'd have to stick to the path. Like a bunch of chaingunners would surround you, or archviles and there would be no escape so you would have to do it properly. Of course it would be done early on so if you do fall for it the first time you won't lose much progress over battles or key/switch hunting.
