Can we have another circle jerk over how great the Brawler 64 controller is?

It's given me a new love for my N64 collection.

When would you ever even need to do that anyway. The L button never gets touched hardly ever unless it's for a map or something.

Regardless this controller is probably a piece of shit anyway and impossible to play fps with like every other 3rd party 64 controller. Aim flying all over the place but that doesn't matter if you're just a little faggot that plays zelda

On this one that's not true. The sensitivity is perfect.

The L button thing isn't a problem at all.

I actually still own most of my N64 boxes but I keep them hidden away in a bin with protective plastic cases around them because I am deathly afraid of damaging them. I made a bunch of universal game case covers so that I would be able to store my games properly on the shelf without risking damage to the boxes whenever I open them up to play.

Christ, this controller's constant shilling is getting to me.
For those who have had experience with both, should I order a new Horipad or pre-order for the next batch of these? I really enjoyed my horipad but it broke accidentally.

I have no experience with the HP, but if that's what you like, you're probably better off with it.

This controller is just okay. Strong, strong emphasis on the words "just okay". Sensitivity is off. Z triggers are analogue instead of being digital instantaneous buttons, there's been some reports of initial build quality issues (a buttons sticking, memory cards not being seen despite regular n64 controllers seeing them just fine). My own experience with it has been mostly positive as an alright but not perfect replacement for a standard N64 controller, which is pretty much what I was expecting. I think it'd be better if the controllers costed their KS price by default instead of $35 or whatever.

6/10 it's okay. They might do some revisions to fix things like the Z Buttons, along with probably fixing other issues backer versions have. You might be better off waiting a bit for the batch AFTER the first major preorder batch, just in case.

The cases are nice because they allow for organization and don't fuck up the original boxes, and it's a better looking option than having a bunch of carts on a shelf with a masking tape label on it.

That's why I have mine like that.

Personally, I prefer it to the Horipad, but I have huge gorilla hands. If it were possible to get it in the same timeframe as a Horipad, I'd recommend it for the lower price point alone, but since you're fine with a Horipad and you can get one a LOT sooner, go with that.

I like buying games loose not just because I save money, but also because I don't want to have the responsibility of caring for a cardboard box when I am just going to stick it in a cardboard case anyway.

I still will try and hunt down a big box PC game once in a while but I mostly just see those as collector's pieces. It's not like I am going to open up a big box PC game every time I play the game, because I am just gonna run it off of my harddrive anyway. What's more, a lot of big box PC games were desiged to open and close easily like a board game box, so wearing them out is not as much of a concern even if I want to look at the manuals and feelies and stuff.

I plugged it in and everything was fine for a while, and then it started totally fucking up and it wasn't responding properly. I turned my N64 off and then it literally would not turn back on. I unplugged everything and changed power outlets and it turned back on. Anytime I plug it in my N64, it causes issues, and when I change out to other controllers, they fuck up. I totally reset the N64 and let it sit and now I'm using a stock OEM controller and haven't had the issue happen again.

It also boot up and told me there were no controllers plugged in, and when I would switch out to another, it still wouldn't recognize it.

Literally never happened before.

Yes you can. You will feel a little bump but it does not stop either the L button or the stick from being able to activate.
>Not compatible with the N64 Transfer Pak
Only game that really uses the transfer pak is Pokemon Stadium which works fine with a regular controller anyway.

It works fine.

I was reiterating Metal Jesus video. I don't even like the guy, but will admit that the stuff he pointed out were valid complaints.
Literally no reason why Up and L are fucked up. Hell, even the worst 3rd party controllers don't do that.
If I have to use a normal N64 controller, they that's the point of this controller? That's the worst shilling possible.
Again, no reason why the D-Pad is bad.

If they end up fixing these complaints, then glad you guys wasted your money beta testing it for them.

>> No.4640017

>>4640010
Metal Jesus himself said that the L1 button issue does not stop the controller from working correctly. It is a slight annoyance that does not stop either the stick or the button from working. The only game I even noticed the issue on was Doom and that's because of the way I have the buttons mapped. 95% of N64 games do not use the L button for anything important.

>> No.4640029

>>4640017
You shouldn't make excuses why a company has a design flaw in their product. It doesn't mater how much L is used, it should not have that problem in the first place. Imagine of the PS4 controller had this problem with Up+L1. The D-Pad is hardly used so people shouldn't complain right?

You people beta tested their controller for when the 2nd version comes out. Congrats you wasted your money so they could get out their Kickstarter shit.

Also, aren't all 3rd party controllers not allowed in speedrunning and fighting games? Why are people even look at this?
