I really like Phantasia's. It looks realistic and it feels like a "real world" played out before the events of the game.

DQ3 because it made you think you explored everything and then you know,Literally GSC before Gsc I wonder if another rpg has made that before

What is GSC? And yeah, DQ has a good sense on how to surprise the players with the world. DQ6 is specially good at this (probably too much for most people) and DQ4 did it in a different way too

Pokemon gen2 (Gold,Silver,Crystal) a perfect example of how a sequel should be like

I like games that take place in one small region or country rather than the entire world. It makes the world feel small and tacky when you can do a loop around the whole thing in five minutes. Limiting the world makes it feel more comfy and lived-in because it can have more detail than "this is the snow town" "this is the castle town" "this is the japan town" etc.

Yes but only the map of DQ1 but you also find out something else about the main character but you will only notice if you played at least DQ1 before it

>Team

It was a fan translation. Not sure how many people but probably hardly worth calling a 'team'.

The actual Japanese text was something like 'Mint has that quiet, refined elegance but Arche looks pretty spunky' or something along those lines.

>>4634998
Are you retarded? A team is just more than one person coming together to do 'something'. It doesn't matter if it's two or three people.

The way FF5 develops over 3 maps was fantastic. From here onwards maps will be worse. Travelling around inf FF5 was fun.

>>4636468
FF3 is another game with a fantastic map, it puts a lot of attention to making every location feel different.

I think mapping is an underrated aspect of jrpgs.

Anyone got in-engine maps for Lunar 1 and 2's overworlds perchance?
