Nah. It has a lot of polish and the polarity mechanic makes it stand out from the crowd but the rest of the game is mechanically very basic for a shmup, and I say that as someone who really likes Ikaruga.

I’d probably lean to something like Radiant Silvergun or DoDonPachi as a better contender. I’m sure someone else will volunteer something from Toaplan, but I’m not too familiar with their work.

I absolutely hate the game, and I like most shoot 'em ups. The reason? I'm terrible at it. I get confused between black and white colors while playing. It just becomes very convoluted when I attempt to play it and I get frustrated immediately. I had the same problem with Radiant Silvergun, it plays less like a shoot em up and more like a puzzle game. I enjoy my puzzle games, I love bubble bobble, puyo puyo, tetris, and tetris attack to name a few, but in a shoot 'em up? No thanks.

Maybe some day I'll try playing it again, but honestly their are so many better games out there.

Hey, I'm trying to get through Grind Stormer on the genesis and I'm hoping there are people out there with knowledge.

Regarding the pattern of pink dots that the third bosses uses: is it tied somehow to the position of the players ship or is it entirely random?

and the fifth bosses red shots, I really can't tell if there's a pattern there. They come out fast and they seem to track you, so I'm wondering if there's a proper strategy to dealing with them. Best I've found is move around the spread, but this isn't consistently viable due to other attacks going off at the same time.
