I just recently get my hands on a Genesis Console and hookups.

I am not a huge fan of JRPGs or Fighting games but would specifically like recommendations for shmups, platformers, and good puzzles.

I am also looking into getting a flash cart.

If you like platformers, this game is a must. Seriously. Developed by Treasure, the same people who made games like Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier (both those are also highly recommended of course, Alien Soldier was only released in Japan and Europe but you can easily find an NTSC repro online).

It's quite good. I got it as a kid from my grandma who got it in a bargin bin and I kind of internally rolled my eyes but politely said thank you when I got it. "Really? McDonalds game?" I was really shocked by how good it was when I actually got around to playing it, though. A solid game.

Battle Mania 2

Granted this is a Mega Drive title not released states side, but there is this guy on eBay who is taking the MD boards and putting them in cannibalized Genesis cart shells. So you don’t have to take the top she’ll off the Genesis.

What you want to stay away from though are the reproduction boards/carts. The boards are too wide and will push your pins apart so your Genesis won’t read legit carts anymore.

As for the case and cart label, they are custom obviously but look good.

Not OP but I had no clue about that since I’ve never considered buying repo carts except for, oddly enough, Battle Mania 2 VERY recently. You saved me from making a big mistake there so thanks.

Vectorman — western developed run and gun / platformer hybrid
