4620081 No.4620081 [Reply] [Original]

Just got this baby in today and I can fully endorse it. This is literally the best N64 controller there is now. No deadzones, sensitivity is perfect, feels great. I've tested it with DOOM, Mario 64, Conker, Donkey Kong 64, Diddy Kong Racing, OoT and Majoras Mask.

>> No.4620084

>>4620081
You didn't mention Goldeneye, which is my biggest problem area.

OoT and MM also have aiming issues though. Jerky, with deadzones. So if those are good then this controller might be good.

What emulator are you using it with? What settings?

>> No.4620101

>>4620084
Classic N64 with ultra HDMI mod.

>> No.4620109

I'm most concerned with how it handles quick inputs like the quick spin slash in OoT, the side flip in mario 64.

But what did your wife think of it? Does it take up less space than a stock N64 controller?

I have an adapter to use N64 controllers on PC. I'm curious how that handles on that, since the Z button is the same on both sides.

Glad to hear it. I'm waiting on mine. Only an idiot wouldn't have ordered one for it's price. Even if it's shit it's a small loss.

This could be the death of the hori if it's as good as you said.

4620168

This is great to hear. Looks like I know what my next purchase will be.

Tell me though, how does it feel in the hand? Is it sturdy? The plastic looks kind of low quality and it seems like it would just be super light. I could be wrong of course (and I hope I am).

Not possible with the cheap tech used.

>> No.4620192

I preordered back in December from castlevania. Still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation or anything.

I see they're sold out now. Should I be worried? When should I expect this shit to ship?

>> No.4620196

It has nothing to do with the "tech," moron.

Update: Just tested with Mario Party 1-3 and all mini games give no issues whatsoever, including the super fast rotating stick mini games that used to destroy N64 sticks.

I don't have Goldeneye or I'd test it but I doubt it will have any issues using the Stick/C-Button controls for aiming and shooting.

>> No.4620201

>>4620168
It's very light but incredibly sturdy. Adding a rumble pak helps the feel immensely, as it does feel "too light" without the pak. The plastic is very cheap but it's not like chink cheap where it feels brittle or anything. It's solid to squeeze, grip, etc. I've been using it for 4 hours now.

So this is a more comfortable N64 controller and it plugs into the N64 like a normal controller would? My only concerns are that my two most played games are Kirby 64 and Tony Hawk 1+2 which both use the D-pad. Would it not get uncomfortable using the D-pad on the left and the C buttons on the right for Tony Hawk? I know this is a minor complaint and I do have one original controller I could use but if this thing does it all then it makes my life easier.

How much was it including shipping? Can you post a picture of you holding it? My hands get kind of cramped holding controllers for a long time, especially my Wii classic controller with the handles (It's a cheap chinese one so maybe that's why).

For the price of 20$ it seems like a great idea.
