Yeah. It plays like the same ten songs every hour at horrible bitrates. Then you got this whole sub-culture of pretentious shitters that listen to 'alternative' radio but it's still just 10 repetitive songs over and over again. People are weird.

Social media is the worst thing to happen to radio. The expression "face for radio" rings true more often than not

>> No.4575831

You all are joking but I'm a teacher and I've heard kids in class explaining that radio is basically an audio only youtube.

That's an oddly specific question...

And no

No. The only local retro video game store nearby fucked me on my first purchase and I never went back. I wanted to pick up a PS1, the guy at the counter told me every system was immaculately cleaned and tested to make sure they run properly. I got home and it took me about 20 sheets of paper towels with isopropyl alcohol to get decades of grime, mucus, and jizz residue off the console, cables, and controller. Then it took me 10 minutes of trying to get a copy of RE 2 with a perfect surface that I've had no trouble with any other machine, to run on the new PS1.

Immaculately cleaned and tested, right, guys? The nerve of someone to lie like that when they know a single swipe with a paper towel is probably going to come back brown and that the likelyhood the system runs is spotty at best. Fuck them, and fuck brick and mortar, I'll take my chances online where people are honest and list what's wrong with things and if they're being sold for parts.

Most radio when referred to simply as 'radio' is not, friendo. Internet radio is typically called just that, and if it's digital broadcast radio, they sure as hell aren't playing video game music, and the bitrates are typically decent.

>and the bitrates are typically decent.

What does that even mean? I can't trust someone that actually listens to the radio to be honest about it. They're too far down the rabbit hole to be objective about these type of things. Prove me wrong.

It felt gross and sticky on my gloves when I cut it out of the shrink wrap, and I was glad I took the precaution of wearing gloves to clean the thing before putting it in my entertainment center and connecting it. Had I known it wasn't working and could barely boot the PS1 splash screen, I would have just taken it right back to the store for an immediate refund.

>>4577814
The OP was strangely specific, so I decided to be strangely specific in my experience at a brick and mortar store. If you can't deal with conversation on an internet forum, I can only imagine what kind of a winner you are in real life.

>>4580963
I use a PS2 slim for PS1 and 2 retro games, but one of my coworkers got interested in retro stuff and wanted a PS1 for the aesthetics, I was picking him up one since I live closer to the retro store and he could just pay me back later. Plus I had just found out about the local store and decided to help them out with some business. Now that I know they blatantly lie, I'll go back to making my purchases online.

On an aside, I'm sure the laser pots just needed to be adjusted, and while I have the equipment like a good multimeter, I decided I wasn't going to take a half hour of my time troubleshooting garbage that someone lied to my face to sell me, I'd rather throw it right back at them so they can take their time to service it right, or just shrink wrap and put back on the shelves so that another buyer would know that store sells garbage and lies to customers. If it was an honest mistake and someone just happened to forget to clean and service it, then I'm sure the problem was rectified, but the fact that they only kept one of each model on the sales floor with a stock room packed with dozens of each, led me to believe they tried getting rid of the trash first before they sell good working units.
