Which one is the original? What's the difference? I was recommended to play this game in MAME, but i could not run the emulator, whereas the TurboEngine does a good job.

It's a better all around version since the hardware it runs on is better. It's called the same since what you're playing is a port.
If you like this game I suggest you give another shot to trying to make MAME work, it's not that hard and very much worth it, not only for this game.

I think platformers weren't profitable in the arcade for some reason even if they used to be the most popular genre on consoles. But of the few that god made we have some nice gems. Arcade games aren't very popular these days, however, even in most retro communities (look at the lack of representation of arcade games in popular stuff like GDQ).

Which version of MAME did you try? You need to match the ROM set to the version of MAME you're running, or most of the time, it won't work.
