Local shop, but you can easily get some woodcrafter to make one for you, plus you get whatever size and wood you want. I actually don't like this shelf, because the space between shelves is HUGE, so there's a lot of wasted space that could mean more shelves if they were tighter together.

Whats coming? How is Parasite Eve? I have heard good things about it.

>> No.446213

>>446168
Parasite Eve is unique, to say the least. Horror RPG with semi real time combat, set in modern New York. Also: lots and lots of biology stuff. It's really darn good, but perhaps too short. PE2 goes for full survival horror (with tank controls), the plot is a bit worse but it's still a great game, really hard too.
For all accounts, PE3/The 3rd Birthday never existed.

And the game that's coming is Misadventures of Tron Bonne, for which i paid an amount i'm not proud of.

Mega Man Legends 3 announcement made the price skyrocket (it was like $20 sealed not four years ago). Priced at $100, everyone just shrugged off and waited for the drop. MML3 was cancelled, so it was only a matter of time before the bubble popped.
A year later, instead of dropping the average hiked to $200+, so i just figured i'd try to get it as "low" as possible on an auction before things get even more out of hand. Of course, i fully expect it to drop at SOME point, but i'm not even mad.

>> No.446265

>>446227
>>446243
Also, it IS actually sort of rare (70k copies sold in north america is the closest guess i can find), just not $200 rare. It's also safely the most expensive NTSC game on the PS1 right now.

>>446243
You win some, you lose some. I accidentally bought a game for a price lower than what I would pay. A guy had Dragon Quest 2 (to complete my set) CiB in good condition listed for like $70. I sent him an offer of $20 just to try, and he accepted immediately. So yeah. I accidentally won that.

Astal. It was a misprint that, as far as I know, is on every single copy of the game.

Fantastic 2D sidescroller. Can't recommend it enough.

yes i buy the frames from a local walmart (just some cheap ones) and the posters are either promotional posters through club nintendo or are original posters bundled with old games.

Oh god, fucking retards. I've repaired SO GODDAMN MANY broken laptop power connectors, and the fuckers WON'T STOP.

I wrap my cords in a loop around my hand, saving enough at the end to go a few times around the larger loop, then tuck the end of the cord through the hole at the end most distant from the controller end, then I cinch up the binding loops to keep it from unraveling.

The 7800 is scratched to shit. Bought it from a game shop like that. Ah well. The Goldstar 3DO is in great shape, but like all Goldstar 3DOs, it's FUCKING DEAD. The FZ-10 is a little scuffed, but works fine.

You just might be ME. I'm surprised someone hasn't made a roll-up type device (similar to garden hoses and earbud cords) to address this.

Then again, they Want you to spend upwards of $140+ on an OEM replacement.

Every Goldstar I have ever owned has worked fine. My current one is a former rental model from some defunct video store in CA, so who knows how many hands it passed through over the years. It survived through numerous moves since I got it too.

The 7800 was my first actual console (I was seven) that was solely my own. No nostalgia goggles involved, because the licenses, actual games, and controller were horrendous, but get this:

1. It's the first console where licensed games were actually backwards-compatible.

2. I could plug in any of the Atari VCS and 2600 peripherals/accessories and they worked perfectly.

Aaaannnnddd...that's about it :(

I haven't ventured out into Craiglist/Ebay-land, but I would love to have a working 3DO. I drooled over their shillposts in the game mags when I was a kid. The problem is all of the different iterations.

Someone make a non-troll 3DO thread, so I don't keep going off-topic.

Goldstar 3DOs are more likely than Panasonic or Sanyo models to develop fucked laser diodes. Despite my EE degree rotting on the vine, I don't think I'll ever work up the initiative to replace one.

>>455568
I prefer to use Genesis controllers, but alas, they don't jive with the gooftarded analog second button on the 7800, but eh, many games were just one-button games.

My local game reseller shop has a boxed 3DO for $80, but I got both of mine for $55-$65 each on eBay. The Goldstar one was DOA, but the seller said he had no way to test it beyond just connecting it to a TV and did not know if it worked, so no foul there. Most of my game collection came from accidental finds in piles of books and CDs at thrift stores and rummage sales.

I guess that shit only happens in California. I've never found anything worth a shit in a thrift store that was incorrectly placed with junky-ass two-head, mono VCRs and old Dish Network and WebTV boxes.

The problem with our hobby is now every faggot who spent years watching get-rich-quick scam shows like Pawn Stars now has a fucking iPhone with instant access to eBay, so they swarm thrift stores and garage sales for shit to flip at retarded prices, and all the hipster fucks with trust funds burn it all so they can be "retro cool" in some illiterate sense of irony.

When I build up a massive pile of duplicate hardware and games, I give systems and games as gifts to friends. Gave one of my best friends an NES with RCR, Final Fantasy, Megaman 2, Contra, Jackal, Gradius, Dragon Warrior, Super Mario Brothers/Duck Hunt (with a zapper, natch), Mario 2, and Mario 3.

Gave my grandmother an NES with Mario/Duck Hunt and a zapper, Mario 2 and 3, and Dr. Mario so the younger kids could play NOT SHIT games when they came over for the holidays and the adults monopolized the HDTV for retarded parades and idiotball games.

Inversely, Atari 2600 sticks work with the Genesis. The fire button maps to B. Good for Sonic 2, letting small children play as Tails.
