It's a Windows PC w/ CRT Emudriver. For the most part for PSX games I just stick to 240p even on games that go 480i and it looks okay because other than Groovymame emulators hate switching between interlaced and progressive through anything but Arcade OSD. If you look on Arcade Controls I saw someone made a fork of mednafen called Mednafen4CRT or something like that that was supposed to be able to switch resolutions mid game like Groovymame I haven't tried it yet

work on removing the sticker on your pkmn yellow gaemu boi.

use a hot DAMP not wet piece of cloth, fold it so that the surface area touching the game is smaller than the label you want to take off.
this way the moisture and heat will only weaken the glue in parts where it's thick, and then you'll be able to take it off no problem.
If you're completely at a loss coat a line in the middle of the sticker with acetone(nail polish remover), and slowly start coating the acetone on it in broader strokes, after each stroke try peeling the sticker off, if it comes off with ease then take it off, if you have to struggle keep going more broad.

Do this after the hot cloth method for a 100% success rate.

For now it's a pretty standard XP machine. It's main use is to run Star Wars Racer and Rogue Squadron, since those won't run on my main desktop. I'll use for dicking around with XP.

The desk is a Ikea Jerker, the side stand is the hinged printer shelf, and it's good for 30kgs (so around 60lbs I think).
These desks are fantastic, and I trust mine so much I'm sleeping right under my CRT. My main desktop is also a Jerker, albeit without the top shelf extension (pic related)

I think the "gotta own 'em all" mentality spawned mostly from bored western american collectors. They could literally find hundreds of games for dirt cheap at flea markets 10-15 years ago before the craze started. Once they had 400 games at home they were like "well, might as well get them all".

Man... /vr/'s setups look comfy as fuck.

I have a tiny apartment, and my living room is sort've lame, right now. I feel like I don't have good access to any particular system, and it's just not cozy. My couch sucks, too.

You guys seem like you're the people to ask. Any tips on making a comfy gaming area in a tiny apartment?

store your games & controllers out of sight. flashcarts obviously take up less space than a shelf of boxes. take advantage of vertical space. set yourself up so that you can tuck cables away and never need to mess with them again.

Where do you guys get nice monitors? I have a basic crt like the one in pic related, it does its job fine but seeing real nice ones like in >>4453189 and >>4456483 for example just make me want to hunt for a nicer one. I've tried my local flea market but rarely is it ever anything nice and just some huge ass one the person just wants to get rid of.

Mon conseil Ultime : REGARDE SUR LES TROTTOIRS

Open it up, use canned air on the sucker, and look up a guide on retrobright and use that on the shell. You can make it yourself easily using Salon-grade Hydrogen Peroxide, Xanthum Gum, and a few other materials. You WILL need gloves/eye protection for this and ideally a dust mask.
It also enhances the fragility of the plastic by binding the Bromine in the fire retardants (what causes the yellowing and britleness in the first place) to rebind to oxygen, forming stable molecules instead of it's current unstable state that yellows with heat and light.

Feel free to ask me questions on the process as I mass-retrobrighted 6 super famicoms recently and they turned out very well.

you can order saturns used for super cheap on amazon.co.jp if you search for the keyword in Japanese. they typically cost between 1400-2000 yen (14-20 dollars American) and controllers are about 500-1000 yen. Additionally, with the Action Replay cart you can play burnt games.

Please don't boil plastics to restore them. Use Hydrogen Peroxide at the worst, make retrobright paste at best.
