I will review the basics. $500. is the absolute lowest I will accept, please don't ask for any lower or schedule to come and see the arcade and once here try to get me to lower the price as I will stay firm at $450.00 Arcade application is set up to support many other old school game systems and games/roms. Arcade is set up to support a coin door if wanted to install. Arcade runs off a computer and application.

>Why pre-loaded Rasp Pi's sell?

It's not too different from the reason why the NES classic and SNES classic sold. Normies have a 60-year-old grandmother level of tech understanding, so something as simple as downloading an emulator and roms, or reading an article about how to download an emulator and roms, is FAR too difficult for them to understand. They know about emulation, they've seen their friends able to play any game they wish, and they want in but don't know how.

Then they see an ad for a little box that's already pre-configured and can be plugged into their TV with one of their PS3/PS4/Xbox controllers. So they pay $100-$200 for $30 worth of hardware that someone spent 30 seconds configuring.

It's called "The Stupid Tax". Dumb people pay it often in life.

Ha this game was a pretty big deal when it showed up at our main arcade. There was a samurai ninja one that came out shortly after and it was good, but even a DDR weeb fag like myself had to admit Police 911 was the better game.

My local Kikebook marketplace has a bunch of fags selling wii's with a bunch of burned ROMs for old games.
I live in a subhuman-infested city (Denver), so chances are it's actually working.

Thing is I kinda want to buy a Wii that's already been homebrewed up and has the IOS shit necessary for USB Loader GX. I've done it all multiple times from scratch, but gave away my Wii a while back. I just don't want to go through the hassle again, but I suppose I should to avoid dealing with scum like this.

Don't do it. It's a shitty practice, and they know you're a sucker for paying them.

If you do it yourself, you know exactly what has been modified and can troubleshoot it yourself instead of trying to figure out what the fuck they did.

I don't have the original post but I found a guy who was selling his spare statues of Mario/Fox he painted back in the early 2000's. He said that he painted all of them from the Mario, Fox, and Pikachu statues and even had a few pictures of the process. *pic related.
Anyway, he told me a whole lot about how each were made, like how the Fox statue was the hardest due to it's multi colors and the Pikachu's were the easiest. He also gave me a number of how many statues he made of each.
Mario- 400
Pikachu-150
Fox-70
He was a pretty cool dude too and I bought one of his Fox statues for $70 and learned some neat history about them.

They are all lazy setups where the guy making it just downloaded complete romsets and dumped them on the harddrive without even trying to filter shit out. They always use the Split archives too, so every single game has a base ROM and 3-20 different region clones, inflating the list even more. There's only about 2,000 games that actually work in MAME that aren't barcade crap, but every one will have 30,000+ fucking ROM files. It's pretty easy to throw some romsets onto a Pi, it takes time and effort to filter out the shit.

>30 seconds

I have a current image of retropie, a finely curated set of roms and every bios file imaginable all on my computer and ready to roll at any time. I've made 6 raspberry pi systems now. It takes probably 2 hours to set up, minimum, and that's with the process streamlined enough that I just have to write the image then plug in the pi, set up wifi, and transfer all the necessary files over via ftp.

The first one took me months of tinkering to perfect, now I essentially just clone that first one. It's not hard, but it's definitely not as plug and play as you're making it sound

>it takes time and effort to filter out the shit

1000x this. I take a lot of pride in my romsets, they're an eternal work in progress making sure every game worth playing is included and every game that's dogshit/clones/half-assed romhacks isn't taking up space.

It disgusts me when I see people bragging about their complete nes game set consisting of like 4000 roms, especially since most people I know who do this only play games a couple times a year when friends are over, and then they only ever play shit like smb1/3

Yeah, the old adage that 90% of everything is crap applies to videogames, too. Full sets are full of shit. 90% by volume.

I've gone over the entire MAME library (as of version 0.158) a few times. Having snapshots really helps to visually filter out crap.

Maybe I should write a guide instead. DIY is better always. I may have added games you consider crap or even entire genres you don't like.
