we didn't have Showbiz/Chuck E Cheese around here when I was growing up, we had Celebration Station, and it was fucking awesome. It's been gone for at least 20 years now, and there is a Chuck E Cheese a mile or two down the road from were Celebration Station used to be.

I don't remember ever seeing Showbiz Pizza anywhere, and I think I was too old once Chuck E Cheese starting showing up in our area. But I definitely remember going to a Burger King once for a birthday party and there was an animatronic band there and I was horribly terrified of it. Showbiz Pizza had more personality , Bob all the way. It was always the more popular that Chicken cheese the only reason Showbiz disappeared was a legal/licensing but Showbiz actually bought Chuckecheese and years later abandoned the Shpwbiz name to avoid paying the animatronic guy

The smaller, local joins are better IMO. There's never been Showbiz Pizza around me, but there was CEC. I had my 7th birthday party there and it wasn't the best experience - I still remember trail of dirty diaper piss running down the ballpit slide. I never wanted to go back to CEC again after that. Showbiz because the band is creepier but FNAF has made this too much of a normalfag appeal for me to really enjoy it. They pretty much vanished in the late 80's / early 90's where I lived (Indiana). The last one I remember going to was in about 1989 in Pennsylvania.

They had good, solid arcades, especially in the early to mid 80's - I remember playing (poorly) stuff like Space Ace, Firefox and MACH 3 there as a little kid. Granted, there were other dedicated arcades that had the same or better lineups but it was still fun.

I grew up in the Seattle area in the 70's/80's and never heard of Showbiz pizza in my life. Chuck E Cheeses were around, but I really only remember going to one (in Tacoma, and one in Federal Way iirc) like two or three times for birthdays as it was torture for parents and impossible to drag them there otherwise. Rest of the time all us kids just went to arcades. There were a fuckton of arcades around back then, each with 50 or so machines.

Merrillvillle Indiana. It was actually the very first Celebration Station. funny that's it's been gone for decades, but there are still franchises left in Florida.

The chucke's near me never actually had the singing animatronics. They just one chucke robot behind a counter that occasions cracked bad puns and jokes. They played the songs on the speakers and put the video on the TVs and a big projector.

I guess I'll start off with the fact that the Rock-afire Explosion was cool beans. If you've never seen one of their shows, their style and quality will come as a total surprise. The first few years were kind of rough, but after that, it's all gold. There is something about early Victorian era Americana that gives me a strange unnerving creepy feeling. My favorite was Showbiz, I got to go there once a year on my best friend's birthday. The band was fun, the pizza was good, the haunted house scared the fucking shit out of me and the video games were glorious.

I'm surprised we didn't see a revival interest in Showbiz after FNAF, it was based on Showbiz pretty much most of it not Chuck-e-cheese.
