Retro anons, BEHOLD!
An emulator for VR that isn't just some boring program on a screen, it isn't just you staring at your monitor .... IT IS TIME TRAVEL!

This is called EmuVR.
They recreate the entire experience, the CRT, the consoles all the way to the cartridges and discs.

This going to be so fucking awesome.
It's still in development so it's not out yet.

I'll be inside this everyday for the rest of my life once it's released.

I'm gonna decorate the room to look like my bedroom from 2006.
Hopefully they include manga and books too I want to forget time ever moved on and go back to my life circa 2000 - 2006.

This is probably meant for people who don't/can't have a room like that or like most /vr/ collectors would have, but do own a VR headset and just want to "experience" or "relive" that for "free".
Also, if they do have netplay while "being" in the same room, shit's gonna be nuts, you could do this: >>4482480.

It's like complaining about VR flying simulators on an aircraft pilot enthusiasts chinese forum where everyone and their friends own jets.

Physical objects deteriorate, people die or move on, homes aren't yours forever or perish from neglect, decades/eras disappear into the ether and moments come and go.
With VR you can pick a moment and place in time and live it out as long as you wish.

true, but now with the extra pain of having to recognize that what you have is ultimately just a cheap imitation.

It's better to accept that all things will be gone one day, and to contemplate this during your day, but also to think hard on this, and realize that even without all of these things, you can still be happy.

Just enjoy what you have while you can, and know that it won't be the end of the world when you no longer have it. Acceptance of this is a healthier way to live than is sitting around with a fear of letting go.

You now that VR gear its also a physical objet, don't you? It will also deteriorate, and digital media probably even faster.
We still have physical pyramids and roman temples from a thousand years, but we have lost forever a lot of recent digital media: old games, videos, etc because being unsupported formats or being accidentally deleted.
