The Japanese went through a phase in the mid to late 16th century when they allowed foreigners to visit and trade. Those visitors brought guns but they also brought a pesky religion that didn't jibe with their beliefs. Japan remembers that letting foreign influences into their country has produced mixed results. They worry that if they open up culturally to foreigners that the entire country will lose its identity like it has at least twice before and that can be scary.

Pretty much boiled down to the Japanese audience enjoying figuring shit out and finding new things, whereas the West was bitching on how obscure and coin-feeding was finding treasure chests for each floor.

I consider myself fairly good at it, and have never really looked online for tips. Same with Tetris which I was freakishly good at.
