The level I posted is just cheap though.
Up to that point the game plays wonderfully I even managed to stock up on maximum lives.
That suddenly you have to jump consecutively on 3 platforms that sink and in between all of them is a lava geyser while you see only 10 pixels in front of you.
Amazing bravo.

It's not that difficult, but it's the kind of challenge that, when you do badly, makes you do even worse until you're just bouncing around unable to get your shit together. Atmospheric music and visuals make it even more oppressive and nerve-racking too

Once you have all refill stations located it's not that big a deal though.

The cave before that section splits on two parts UP and DOWN
If you go UP there is a bolder that will smash you because there is no room to jump and if you try to trigger it and run back the bolder even follows you uphill and runs you over.

If you go DOWN you get the section I posted with the 3 platforms.
The solution for me is to quickly press left and right to
scroll the screen forward and trigger the geyser,wait for his animation to finish with just enough
time to jump onto the next platform.

Here's the funny thing: the laval level in Aladdin can be skipped, it's not necessary to beat it to win the game.
Or maybe it was the carpet lava level.
Either way, the game is "difficult" for the wrong reasons, not because it's actually challenging. Most of the game revolves around finding your way out of a maze and shooting apples.

It is interesting to watch the Devs Play video for The Lion King where Louis Castle describes a game design technique where they throw in an unusually hard section in order to keep kids from beating the game on a single rental. Been a little while since I watched it, so I don't recall all the specifics (I think it was a concept pushed by Disney?), but that would certainly explain the difficulty of the cave escape section in Aladdin and even Down The Tubes in EWJ since I'd assume that Perry brought that lesson with him from his work on Aladdin. From what i recall of my playthroughs of Aladdin, the lava levels were markedly harder than anything else in the game, at least when measured in terms of lives lost.
