So what was it with the whole prehistoric/dinosaur/caveman/Jurassic theme in pop culture back in the 90s, specially with vidya. At the top of my head I can name;

>Bonk/PC/FC-Genjin series
>Chuck Rock
>Joe & Mac
>Humans
>Big Nose
>Tail of the Sun
>Dino City
>Dino Land

Even Mario jumped into the dino fad in SMW and some games like Chrono Trigger, TMNT:TIT and Live a Live had dino/caveman parts or characters in them. My ex-g/f said there were big palaeontological discoveries that time but still, it was kinda ridiculous

I think games were just mirroring things that were popular in TV and movies at the time. I remember being into a lot of Dinosaur shit as a kid.

Jurassic Park, that Dinosaurs TV show, the Flintstones live action movie, The Land Before Time movies, Power Rangers, etc.

Vampires, ninjas, and werewolf to some extent are cool, but zombies are dull as fuck, never understood how zombies became so popular, I bet Call of Duty is still having its annual zombie DLC pack.
Then again, with "vampires" and "werewolf" you probably mean that twilight thing, but that was mostly aimed at pre-teen girls wasn't it?
