Before it's time.

Imagine a modern Bushido Blade.

Not Dark Souls
Not Ni-Oh
Not Way of the Samurai.

Bushido Blade.

That game frustrated the fuck out of me when it would end and wouldn't tell me why.

Apparently I was dishonorable

You lack honor baka-san.
>>4446553
I thought it did? I remember playing it and being pissed that it somehow looked worse than the first game and had a few characters with guns.

Meh, you're right, it has been released in North America, but not in Europe where I live.

I remember trying a number of tactics to avoid that inevitable end.

Some times, I would do close to NOTHING.

>Stand
>Wait
>Opponent approaches me, I swipe at him ONCE.
>Repeat
>Win
>my character laughs
>I am dishonorable
>y tho

You do NOT know honor.

What I always found messed up was how hard it was to unlock the real endings. Gotta beat the fights perfectly, gotta run halfway around the world at the 3rd or 4th fight, disable opponents leg, jump into well, then fight flawlessly to the end. Never pulled it off once, usually ended up breaking honor on the last boss.

>>4446984
THIS, why the holy hell did they make it so obtuse to get the real endings? I was able to do it one time using a gameFAQs guide and it was a total pain in the fucking ass.

>>4446668
I don't know why you had so much trouble. Just don't hit them when they talk.

Other than that, the game was marvelous and one of my favorite PS1 games of all time.

I could never beat slash mode without losing though and never unlocked the gun guy. I got up to the 90's in slash mode one time without a loss and then slipped up.

I consider BB to be one of the best 2 player games on the PSX. Being able to break into a run at any time, throw dirt in your opponent's eyes, and the suddenness of the combat and how quickly things could change made it the best one on one fighter on the console.

Absolutely nothing you goddamn waste of human space. Do you know how fucking incredible that game is first of all
>fighting game by square
>amazing concept, 1 hit kills
Goddamn it I’m so destroyed that you don’t love the game you son of a cock sucker
> completely unique among all fighters
> deep secrets like true endings
>actually having a code of honor in a fighting game where the choice is exactly topical and relevant
I hate you. Now if your goddamn cock sucking image had been bushido blade 2 we could have had tea and chatted
But goddamit no you played the game for fifteen fucking minutes in 2017 and decided to make a goddamn thread about it.
>so many modes
>including one where you fight 100 ninjas to receive the award of having the gun character
> a POV mode which I can’t ever remember being in another game
I hate you
A pox on both your houses! Dishonorable!

I don't know what peoples' problem with Bushido Blade II was. I thought it was superior in every conceivable way. Hell, even the gun fighters were a great addition. Once you git gud enough, deflecting bullets wasn't terribly difficult. The fighting mechanics were more polished, the story was infinitely better, and the roster was a lot more rounded.

This, I need to hear the rationale of those who think Bushido Blade 1 is the best.

I enjoyed BB for swordplay, not fighting with guns. Arenas seemed cut down from the first game, and every single arena had a flat black background at what appeared to be a shorter draw distance than the first game. The first game felt like it had more variety in places to fight from what I played of the 2nd game. Sequel felt like such a let-down.

Two hidden characters. Remove them from the roster and Bushido Blade 2 still had three times the roster that Bushido Blade 1 had with about eight times the movesets and attacks. Also, Bushido Blade 2 had more maps, and repeated the bamboo forest map which was the only really great one the first had. Plus it introduced the pic related narrow rooftop map, the coolest one in either game.

squaresoft (squeenix whatever) should revive this series
with online it could be a hit since it's fun for both an expert and a newbie since you don't have to spend over 9000 hours to master a single character
