What co op games did you have a lot of fun with that don’t seem to get enough love?

I always wanted to play that, because it looked like the type of SNES game I liked. But by the time I got a PS2, I had forgotten about it.

>Herc's Adventures
I have played through the entire game, and I know every secret. That being said, this is a fucking shit game.

It is fun with a friend up until the point you reach Elis. From that point forward in the game, all you do is grind up a large amount of Gyros, slog your way through the same fucking soldiers to your current quest goal, collect key or defeat boss and collect key, and then do it again for the next quest. Over and over and over and over. And going anywhere is a fucking slog. You can't jump over enemies, so you NEED to fight through fucking everywhere. It gets to the point where you will grind up gold just to get more weapons so you can punch through enemies quicker. I stockpiled up a shitton of rayguns just so I didn't have to spend hours jamming on the attack button to get through the skeletons in Hades. Of course, you can't take a straight path anywhere in this game, so going from location to location is a matter of knowing what catapults you need to use to travel. Otherwise you might make a wrong turn and spend a few hours going around until you finally find your way back. Even if you have the patience to put up with all that bullshit, the bosses are a kick in the dick in terms of fun. Talos? Throw bomb, wait until he bends over, attack 2-3 times while you can. Repeat. The Minotaur can pin you between a wall and a trap and force you to die no matter how many Gyros you brought with you. The fucking Hydra can only be defeated with one specific weapon you can only buy in Minos, and only AFTER you've gone through Minos once already and made a trip back. The instant-death pits while fighting Medusa almost seems fair compared to some of this shit. Making the slow slog back to Elis to restock on Gyros and then the slow slog to the next boss gets old fast. And the short video ending you get isn't worth it at all.

That being said, I have two secrets for anyone looking to suffer through Herc's Adventures.

1) At the very beginning of the game, there is a hidden tunnel you don't have potions to access. Through the tunnel is two wooden signs. Each wooden sign gives you some of every item and weapon in the game, except keys. It's kinda hidden on how you get the potions.

Once you begin the game, go around and kill all the giants before the first locked door, pick up and throw all sheep. Hop on the catapult, and do it again. Keep killing ALL giants and throwing all sheep before jumping on the catapult. After the 3rd or 4th time, you will fight a giant near the start of the game in front of two potions that weren't there before. There's two potions and two signs in case you are playing with a friend. If not, just grab both and go over to the first locked door and walk straight down. Once you hit those mountains at the bottom of the screen, chug potion, become pig, move south through tunnel. DO NOT JUMP IN WATER AS PIG, that will kill you instantly. Wait until you change back, or go back through the tunnel when you are done. Gold, Gyros, and a decent stash of the best weapons in the game helps you start quickly.

2) If you actually manage to beat this piece of shit, the ending credits is an area you can walk around with a house locked behind a door. Many people ask online where the key is. You will find bombs while wandering around this area. Bring them over to that small patch of water in the lower left corner, and then hop in to attract the fish. Bomb the fish to death, then swim to the lower left corner of the pool to get the key. Watch out for the martians and the giant, enjoy your raygun.

Eh, it does feel like an achievement beating it with a pal; I remember renting it once after school and cutting through it that same evening with Atlanta and Jason in a blaze of Mountain Dew and girlfriendlessness

Blaze and Blade for the PS is lots of fun with four players. I just found out there's a PC version, what do you know

Singleplayer is a decent action game, but co-op is tons of fun. Drive or fly around and blow shit up all over the fucking place, and change vehicles on the fly. Fuck yes.

>SNES: Mech Warriors
I think you mean Metal Warriors, which didn't have a co-op mode, only VS.

>> No.4447886

>>4447869
You're right, meant Metal Warriors and it was actually a VS mode as you stated earlier. Despite that, had a ton of fun with it and whoever was over to play.

I think the Magical series is well liked enough, but since 3 was never released outside Japan until the GBA port, not a lot of people have played it and it's the best one.
