Why did the N64 have you choose one over the other?

Unplug rumble pak and plug in memory pak when you need to save/load.

Few games used the memory pak anyways.

Dreamcast fixed this issue, another reason why it's GOAT.

What the fuck is this list, even? I know for a fact that none of the Zeldas used it.

Uh, can't really count that, but that looks like a lot of games that don't use the controller pak or only use it optionally.

Also most of those games that use the controller pak are literally shovelware like sports games and ports. I had a PC and N64 at the time, why would I bother with Quake 64?

You only have to have the memory card for very specific games, and you only have to have them plugged in when you save.

Lmao oh yeah, the controller with one analog stick, the d-pad on the same side as the analog stick (meaning you can't use both at the same time for shooters like you could on N64), nothing but dead space in the middle, the start button all the way at the bottom, some of the shittiest plastic face buttons known to man, and to top it all off, the wire on the bottom of the fucking controller.

But hey, it let you use two VMUs LOL.

What the fuck is that device on top of the N64? I've seen everything else before, but never that. Some kind of floppy save thing?

The triggers were okay, but there were only two of them and they were outdone by the Xbox just two years later.

To be fair, I found out recently that you can actually take the cord and click it into that little vertical slot on the bottom of the controller, effectively making it point outward. But it was still stupid.

Had to be done, because the ports for VMU/Rumble wouldn't permit a cord wire.

Why would that have been immediately apparent? No other controller has been so retarded as to make you click it into a little slot so that it doesn't point towards you. Are you some kind of hyper autist that reads every word of the documentation material or something?

That slot is so that you have somewhere to terminate the cable after you wrap it up. I don't know why people have a problem with the cord facing down.

Uh no, it's literally to make the cable face outward.
>I don't know why people have a problem with the cord facing down.
Because the cable is plugged into the machine, so making it point towards you is retarded.
