Always loved this one. Just felt fun to still play a fighting game as such but not against a person. I don't know, but I just thought it was great

Bonus games are great especially if they unlock unnecessary but useful advantages in the main game. It's actually pretty challenging to think of good examples in cart games with limited code space.

I like the ones in Crash Bandicoot 2 and 3. They match the aesthetic of the level you're in, and don't feel out of place or "random". They can be used to gather extra lives, which is a breeze. However if you're going for the level's clear gem you need to break all the boxes in them, which can be tricky in some later levels, adding that extra bit of challenge.

Blue spheres in Sonic 3 is still the best special stages in Sonic.

I kinda like those bonus stages for getting three animal tokens in Donkey Kong Country, even if there's nothing to them except grabbing all the animal tokens. But fuck Rambi's stage for being impossible to get to the giant double token.

Also, probably a minority, but I loved the FPS sections in Banjo Tooie.

basically you have to jump down the two valleys and then run back to the start and hop across the top as fast as you can and just barely get the big multiplier. Hardly worth it, it feels more satisfying to just jump aimlessly through all the tokens.

I just dont understand why someone would blindly spend money on a game they know nothing about when they could emulate it and try it out first. Its as bad as the people on here who say "I bought a Sega Saturn now what? I dont know what games are good for it"

The bonus level in the first level of Zombies Ate My Neighbors, only because its so rare to get. Only got it once in about 15 years of playing
