theres like 1600 sfc+snes games in total without counting BS Satellaview games and the SD2SNES cant run around 60 games. That makes it to like 96-97% compatibility. And from those 60 games, 20 are worth playing and they arent that expensive to get on their own.

The Everdrive 64 actually is 100% compatible. The SD2SNES is missing key titles like Mario RPG, Kirby Super Star Saga, Yoshi's Island, and Star Fox

>> No.4413735

The most worthwhile by far is the Everdrive 64 v3. N64 game prices are retarded to the point where getting 3-4 big-name titles will cost you the same amount as the Everdrive. Add to that the fact that N64 emulation is terrible and that increases the E64's value.

I have a feeling the answer is going to be no, but how bad is the load time difference between the SD2SNES and the Super Everdrive, and would it be worth it to get the SD over the Super primarily for that reason?

The only real benefits I see the SD2SNES bringing me are those load time differences, and maybe messing around with an MSU1 hack or two; I've got most of the special chip games that I care about on the system (including ones that SD doesn't support) and the ones I don't aren't supported anyway.

Apparently you can sometimes kickstart it by repeatedly turning it off and on again - after a few goes, it'll get going fast enough for the Everdrive to work. Other people say using certain battery types helps. Other people just have it work perfectly fine.

>Seems like it happens due the specifics of power circuit of gb pocket, it take lot of time to rise from 0 to 5v. On GBP (MGB-001) power rise from 0 to 5v at 35ms, approximately, but on GBC (CGB-001), for example, it takes just around 5ms. I just tested 50 carts and 3 of them not working with my pocket. Seems like in such conditions fpga refuse to load configuration from internal memory. I tried to reboot fpga manually, after than power switched on, and it works.

I still don't understand the logic in this opinion. So I suppose your money will be better spent on the actual cartridges then? You can get an SD2SNES for the price of 4-5 of the more rare/expensive cartridges and it'll play just about everything else as well.

People who whine about it not supporting certain special chip games (of which there are about five games actually worth playing) are fucking idiots and probably emulatorfags too poor to even own real consoles anyway.

If you import, yes. And especially if you plan on owning in the range of 20 - 30 games maximum. It would still be more affordable than a Flash cart.

It's not rocket science, a flashcart with no prospect of ever having 100% compatibility just won't appeal to some people. Yeah it's not a big deal statistically speaking, but it's an asterisk attached to the product. When SNES emulation has been 1/1 with the real thing for years, that's just not good enough.

Something like the N64 everdrive also has a legitimate appeal thanks to its emulators being unstable relics that barely moved past 2005.

something about the voltage step being slightly off internally which stresses the components more than regular carts. Theres some article about it and the only cart that passed the test was SD2SNES.
