What's your favorite retro Batman game?
Mine's pic related, It's the best single player beat 'em up experience you can get.

Batman the arcade version is pretty close, I wish it had more levels though. I own Batman(Sega Genesis), Batman Returns(SNES), & Batman Forever The Arcade Game(PS1). I've always enjoyed movie based Batman games, so I tend to buy the best versions of the console ports.

To be fair, it's only proper for a Batman game to be one-player to properly emulate the sad, lonely nature of the character. I hope you're doing fine yourself, anon

It's a great game but it needs a little more depth to be the best single player beat 'em up experience. I think Sega Adventures of Batman and Robin is probably my favorite.

Sunsoft did the best Batman games, I agree.
My favorite is Return of the Joker on NES.

No offense but you're not very good at the game if you're taking long on the bosses. If you're doing the punch combo on bosses then you're not playing efficiently. This game is ALL about grabs and infinites. NEVER finish the full punch combo.

>> No.4408975

>>4408947
and by infinites i don't mean Final Fight style punch, punch, punch infinites.

I'm talking about grab-infinites.

For example, punch-punch,punch-grab-knee-knee-break, and repeat. You can break grabs by pressing block.

Or simply grab-knee-knee-break, repeat.

Seriously, some people think that this game has cheap bosses. And the youtube vids show some seriously shit gameplay when they're supposedly "expert" plays. None of them are good players. You shouldn't need a single test tube on Catwoman. You can literally finish her off in 3 sets of attacks. You shouldn't even be getting hit by her a single time, her attacks are linear as fuck and like everyone else, she's vulnerable to grabs.

DON'T FUCKING FINISH THE PUNCH COMBO. the key to being pro at this game is grabs.

The Genesis version is better and closer to the movie.

1 song, oh wow. The Sega Genesis version is still superior, mainly because of better graphics. I also loved that I can use the Batmobile & the Bat-wing.

Batman is literally purple in the NES version, as the other anon pointed out.

>I unironically prefer the graphics on the NES.
I like the graphics on Genesis simply because it's movie accurate. Plus even the color scheme is more movie accurate.

Perhaps you are confusing it with Batman Returns? Because '89 Batman game on Genesis is so brown, it looks like a 16-bit Call of Duty.

>sad, lonely nature of the character
What the fuck are you talking about? Batman first appeared in Detective Comics #27 in May 1939. Robin first appeared in Detective #38 in 1940, in fact even before Joker.

Batman was a 'sad, lonely character' for ONE YEAR out of his entire 78-year long career, for all the other time he always had various Robins, Batgirls, Batwomen, Oracle, Nightwing, Azrael, Catwoman and Alfred - and recently also Batwing, Bluebird, Clayface and whatever the fuck Duke Thomas is calling himself now.

Batman is not a solo character, despite what the movies are trying to push for some reason.

Actually I agree with you, anon, I think it's a great game. It also happens to be the most faithful adaptation of the movie out of all of them.

However, I love that he just has a fucking gun in this game. Apparently it's supposed to be a 'wrist-mounted batarang launcher' but let's be honest, it's a fucking gun.

I liked how you could stick to walls like in Ninja Gaiden. The "wrist launcher" Batman is holding was interpreted by my child brain to be a batarang in hand ready to throw, not a gun. So yeah, I really liked this game.

Too bad I never had a Gameboy, this was just one of the games I played when a friend let me borrow it for a few recesses.
