The textures is part of the memory bandwidth problem.

The sound is fine, if anyone complains about that over PSX's jittery polygons then it's just nostalgia.

Textures are debatable in the first place, but as already mentioned, the memory problem is the cause of that.

Jittery PSX games with no hardware T&L looks worse to most people than texture issues. N64 had way more games with top tier graphics like Majora's Mask, while games like Soul Reaver were so exceptional they're mostly remembered for being that exceptional.

Probably two of the things you hate/don't give a fuck about. For one, I think DLC is pretty great and the second is that I've always been big into multiplayer and vs games and having online means I can both play with friends or an endless stream of strangers.

I also like the way the internet can bring together people who are interested in very specific, niche things. Roguelikes, one of my favorite genres was born out of fans discussing, modding and tinkering with games in a way that never would have happened before the internet.

Rare were really ingenious about textures on N64 games. Couples with the lighting effects and character animations made these games look really good.
also it should be remembered that N64 games are meant to be displayed on CRTs at 240p. No wonder stretched screenshots from emulators will look blurry.
