Where did Lavos come from? What is Lavos's motivation?

>> No.4406429

>>4406406
Space
To make more Lavos

>> No.4406430

It's motivation is really only to further his own evolution and suck the lifeforce out of planets. As for where he came from the only answer we know of is "space lmao". It does reproduce though so this lavos may not have been the first.

>> No.4406439

Using the DNA of every organism and achieving the ultimate in evolution!

>> No.4406804

Like everything, it lusts for sex.

>> No.4406814

It's a space parasite that eats planets, basically.

What is the motivation of mosquitoes or viruses? There's your answer, OP. Evolution sure is fucked up.

he's a space tick. That's about it.

Everyone ITT confirmed for having never even played the game.

The thing in OP's pic is just a space ship. The real Lavos was the alien riding inside it.

This. Also, keep in mind that Lavos can manipulate time far too well to be "just" a space tick. It may be some sort of higher-plane being with ultimately inscrutable motivations.

More like an incubator. It's at least implied that the DNA Lavos gets goes to it.

>> No.4406848

Lavos' core is just an aspect of Lavos as a parasite. It's not an individual being that's taken over Lavos and is using it as a vehicle / shell / whatever.

I actually like the idea that it is a mindless beast which can instinctually manipulate the threads of time and the advancement of civilization just to reproduce. That combined with the possibility that there are countless more just like it in the vast expanse of space is pretty spooky to me.

fun fact, if you just defeat the right node, it kills lavos, the"spaceman" thing is just another parcial aspect, the node is the true "core"

Good, because Cross made it pretty apparent that that is exactly what it is.

>> No.4406936

Didn't you play the game? Lavos is an alien lifeform that copies all the DNA of the other lifeforms from all over the universe and assimilates them to use for it's own control. It's motivation is to conquer and assimilate everything into it's own replicas. It's pretty much the alien from The Thing.

It never actually manipulates time.

If you mean the flashback scenes during the last fight, that's because he is fighting you with the absorbed knowledge from humanity.

The move is literally called time-warp. Lavos manipulates the space-time continuum itself. The final battle also shows 2300 AD in the background. If it was just Lavos projecting his thoughts absorbed from human knowledge, how the hell would he accurately recreate the doomsday world when you can't fight him in 2300 AD? (If you try Queen Zeal tells you it's too late and they run to the past instead)

Belthasar quote: "Lavos created a dimensional vortex that threw me far into the future!" (They show this scene when Lavos awakens in 12000 BC actually as well but this indisputably proves the warp was created by base Lavos)

Lavos also exists beyond space and time as the Time Devourer and is able to consume the infinite multiverse along with all of time. The Black Omen which is powered by Lavos is similarly stated to exist outside of space and time thanks to Lavos' influence.

How about the space man is an ultimate life form type thing lavos core made, that's the next stage it was making.

Maybe the guy in the first room was a more mature prototype?
