This is nothing but speculation as if this was real it would of been 30 + 1, Smash 64 would be in and it would of have Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie in it as Microsoft is not in the Plug n' Play business plus others.

The extra game would of been F-Zero X Expansion Pack, not something already out in the VC.

And the only reason why the SNES Classic only had 20 + 1 games in it was because NERD was adsorbed into NERD SAS and it had to be finished by EPD10 (long story short Nintendo shut down the Tokyo unit in April of this year and adsorbed it back into Kyoto, EPD8 was EPD Tokyo 2 when EPD10 was EPD Tokyo 1), this will not be the case again.

>> No.4387967

The source is notoriously unreliable, so it's very likely fake.

No Smash Bros. would definitely mean a no-buy from me. Smash would be my main incentive for getting one of these. I can already play OoT on GameCube.

Also
>Majora's Mask

Banjo is still Rare which is still microsoft, they sell those games digitally on XBLA like perfect dark, banjo, and on the XBONE as Rare replay which has all the others. Why would they make competition for themselves. There is a reason why Banjo and other games are not on the Wii VC or were taken off.

Very unlikely that there will be Kazooie/tooie, diddy kong racing, perfect dark, jet force gemini, blast corps, KI Gold. The only reason they can have DK64 if anything is probably because it is a completely Nintendo property with Nintendo characters and was just made by rare.

Definitely no goldeneye since the rights and licenses, and likeness of the actors for that are completely fucked and all over the place.

def fake though, they would be out of their minds if there was no smash 64. and good point, I was thinking master quest but they will probably just shoehorn in some 64DD stuff to make it a selling point

Goemon and ISS64 are Konami IPs, and Bomberman is there so there should be Konami games (Goemon is a fan favorite for n64 fans after all, and great adventure is a great co-op option)
Cruis'n is 100% Nintendo for what it looks, since Cruis'n Blast was licensed by Nintendo and USA was in Wii VC.
I can see trouble with Turok, MM (is the Squeenix/Treasure thing still unresolved?) and Star Wars. But atleast they should add a fps, since Bethesda is slightly more friendly with them, why not Doom 64 or Quake?

Actually, taking an HLE approach to a limited number of popular games would work pretty well for such a product.

UltraHLE could run Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time seemingly perfectly on a Pentium III. It didn't matter that it wasn't hardware-accurate as long as it did what it was supposed to do.

N64 emulation is hard and requires a lot more development than Nintendo did for then nes/snes classic. To get any 20 games on it all running properly would be more work than they feel like doing. Next one will probably be Gameboy or something.

That is if it ever comes out.

If they were to make one, it'd be neat for them to include Japanese games like N64 Animal Crossing.

You know that's not going to happen, right?
The only time I could see it happening is if they ever make it all the way to GBA classic edition. The only way to play Mother 3 will be to get one of those things. It'd be a blood bath trying to get one.

On that note, what would the japanese list of games look like for N64 classic?

Same as the west as there is nothing about the different in all 3 major regions.

We are getting the same games this time around.

You don't think maybe they'll get Animal Forest while we get something they didn't care for in Japan? Maybe a rareware game?

>> No.4397551

It pains me that they're decreasing the number of games from console to console. 30 games for the N64 would easily fill 90% of its worthwile content, more if you take it would be NTSC-U only.

Rare Replay is basically the only exclusive that the XBOne has, and it's one of the few ways to play Rare's N64 games on a modern tv without emulation glitches. Microsoft is never giving up those games

I don't think Starfox 2 is setting a precedent for unreleased games being included on these plug 'n play consoles.

You can't declare a pattern if it's between two points, much less one point.

I think the more likely scenario is that they include Ocarina of Time, Master Quest.

It benefits Nintendo as well because it causes people who'd otherwise have second doubts to buy their products as soon as possible in fear of them running out of stock extremely fast.
