I don't understand how this game could ever sell/be popular.
I rented it once and it was okay, I guess but not worth being legendary and certainly shitter than mario/sonic or other actually successful and well designed games.

I'm gonna make an assumption. Yoour taste is tainted by the high-quality games of today. Every Lemmings game delivered. Most other games had no micro at the time. All overheads and side-scrollers. This added in active strategy. It was like what Warcraft would become.
If they made a Lemmings vs Worms on Steam, my life would be complete.

I'm proud that I've beaten the SNES version. I like Lemmings.

Its a completely different genre to warcraft. What's wrong with you?

I said would become. Notice the real-time strategy aspect (even though it's far less advanced) of each. Map/stage awareness is a must. Just like Warcraft.

could never get past the third stage.

just ramped up the lemmings to max then let them all self destruct.

Really liked the color pallette , contrasting bright greens and deep brown earth tones.

Yeah, I sure loved getting that economy advantage in fucking lemmings, great base building mechanics. You're a fucking moron.

>it's the "you just wasted 10 minutes of your life because you haven't clicked the digger fast enough and it plunged to his death instead of building the stairs" episode

Yes. It takes timing, practice and patience. Like all good things in life!
Pic unrelated.

when is map/stage awareness not a "must" in video games?

Well, some games are more forgiving than others, but most side-scrollers you just keep moving left to right. I meant like viewing a WHOLE SCREEN instead of just where you jump to next or attack next etc.

It just means micromanage. Mice are best until you get fighter pilot-tier ai vr voice headset premonition gear my dude.

there's a minimap in the lemmings on the bottom, showing the whole level and position of all lemmings

Use a modern source port like SuperLemmini.

I'm coming to this from a different angle, but Lemmings and Warcraft did have a very similar appeal to me as a weeun. I loved how you had multiple independent little guys moving on the screen all doing their own little thing, how you could affect your environment, and how you could control and abuse the little computer men at a whim.
