I'm just trying to sell some of my old games for as much as I can get for them. Is there a convenient way of seeing how much I can expect to get, without having to drive from place to place and seeing what they're offering for it?

Also, not quite retro but I sold both GBA Golden Sun games and Luigi's Mansion for $75 total. They all had original cases and were in great condition. Is that a good price, more or less?

Just go to pricecharting.com it takes the average of all the ebay sales for loose, complete in box and new. Honestly just sell them on craigslist or fb if you want them gone fast. You won't get ebay prices but most people will come close, especially for the more rare stuff.

>list on eBay as buy it now at stupid high price with best offer
>Lower it a few dollars each week until sold
>get exactly what it's worth

Wooooooooooow

Try pricecharting or sold ebay listings for values.

Sell on craigslist/kijiji at or even slightly below market value. If you have rare or popular stuff most people will still buy them at those prices anyways. I think as long as you charge a lil less than what stores or ebay might want you should be okay.

Getting a quote from a store is a pain in the ass because they will always want to do it in person. You'll never get an estimate over the phone or email. They want to do it in the store so that by the time you pack everything up, drive to the place and bring everything in, you're more likely to just say fuck it and accept their offer of like 20% of what your stuff is valued at.

any physical retail store will give you a fraction of what they are worth.
Selling a game on ebay or other selling apps is one of the easiest items to list.

Stores will give you below market value because they have to make a profit. Them taking trade-ins is essentially a service they offer.

You get to conveniently trade your games in without the hassle of ebay or craigslist, and they take a cut.

If you don't want to assed with selling, just sell to a local store.

Otherwise, use pricecharting for a ballpark estimate then sell on eBay/Amazon for market value, or Craigslist for below market value. You will end up with about the same gains whether you sell online or locally as you need to subtract shipping and fees from ebay/amazon.

If you're shipping a bunch of stuff, you can get really cheap mailers on amazon or ebay.

I personally like Amazon better because you don't really have to make a new listing and don't have to take photos. Shit sells fast because Amazon is close to having a monopoly on online retail so you don't really need to be the cheapest price.

Go on ebay and list them all as W00W R@RE and you'll be rolling in the big bucks.

>A service they offer
It's a mandatory service. Without taking trade ins they have no way of getting new stock that any schlub on the street has access to.

>put fzero x on eBay

Not bad

Make sure you put "i know what i got" in the description so people don't try to fuck with you.

That's not true. Much of their stock comes from wholesalers. They also tend to get a lot of stuff from Craigslist.

I've made a ton of cash selling my old shit on Craigslist. I'd recommend it over any other venue.

Sell off lots bit by bit, wait for good offers and don't be scared to negotiate. There's a community of collectors in every area, they all know what shit is worth on eBay.

You run into weird shit - I sold a guy the super famicom versions of Dragon Quest 1-5 and Mother 2 for $300. He was like 55 and didn't seem to know what they were or care about video games. I will never know what that guy's deal was; but I'd never have fucking found that deal on eBay.

Facebook collectors groups can also be decent.

CL has always been shit for me, super lowballs, people wanting you to bring it to some weird location or their house then trying to short change you. I just wish ebay/paypal would actually do their job instead of automatically assuming the buyer is always right.
