This is a third rate Zelda clone with weapon durability. I'm sure whoever recommended this dogshit is having a good laugh.

It's more like Zelda mixed with a brawler. I like it far more than any Zelda game but different opinions are what makes life interesting. Hope you tried it before spending money... Now go play something you do like!

>> No.4340196

Beyond Oasis

Cons:
-Most music is garbage
-game isn't very long
-dying at a boss means you restart the level

Pros:
-weapon variety
-detailed nice to look at over world
-huge fun to fight bosses
-elemental spirit friends will always be cool

It's a solid game overall. I give it a 8/10. Would be 9 but some of that dungeon music is terrible.

>> No.4340239

>>4340196
The music really is horseshit but I play most games with the music diwn or off anyways. It's worse than most but I think almost all video game music is bad.

I appreciate it for being its on take on the formula for the Sega systems. I am a fan of brawlers, so I enjoy the combat. I wouldn't recommend it to others, but I don' think of it as a bad game in any way. I like how the attack sounds like Axel from Streets of Rage. >>4340196 sums it up nicely.

It's short and the small story was further cut down in the localization, still love it for managing to play and look so good in it's times.
Shame we didn't got the sequel.

This reminds me. I'm also buttmad about Buster (the dev, who also did two games titled Buster). Guy was rad as hell, but he seems to have vanished off the face of the earth.
Guardian of Paradise was cool and one of the better "dojin" titles I've played (but I've only played a few anyways). Hydra Castle Labyrinth was also cool.

The compatibility is crazy high, you won't see any glitches or anything. You just mount a CD image, launch the emulator and it plays the game straight away just like it was a native PC game. Fucking amazing.

Yes, it is locked to 2x internal resolution with no shaders or filtering, but that's fucking perfect.

Yeah I think I got to some temple that has like 3-5 switches in the starting room and just said fuck it, I'll deal with this bullshit on a later date. And then I forgot about it and lost my save. I think I was about 80% done.

Supposedly there's an awesome secret area in the game, I don't remember the conditions, but you're supposed to backtrack to one of the starting areas in the forest, there would be a hole in the ground and then you can enter some special dungeon and get the best sword in the game that does NOT degrade. Anybody been there?

>> No.4348559

>>4348490
Yeah it's basically the challenge dungeon of the game. 100 floors of enemies and completing it gets you a sword that never breaks, infinite bombs and shit
