Haven't they just been remaking the same Bomberman game over and over again? The word "rehash" gets thrown around a lot, but it's strange that I've never seen it applied to Bomberman. There are so many games, yet almost all of them (aside from the rare exceptions like Bomberman 64) are just graphical upgrades to the same, basic formula

The formula is usually the same but they do change SOME things between each game, like the general physics and power-ups. At least that's for the multiplayer, they do tend to experiment with the singleplayer side of things with examples being the 64 games, the RPG games, or even the Land series. But most people don't play these games for the singleplayer.

What? Even back in the day, "there's no point in buying this if you already have another Bomberman game" was a commonly cited issue even back in the day. But the games were good and usually had at least SOMETHING unique to them.

Bomberman Hero is exclusively single-player.

At a risk of sounding like a normalfag, are you implying that "party games" are bad and/or forgettable experiences?

Some of the best vidya memories I had was with close friends and local multi player games. Bomberman being one of them, Mario Pary being another. The term "party games" never really had any weight to it, it was just know for the most part as local multiplayer games.

Certainly beats the arrogance of modern gaming with "muh realism" or being called a faggot for the 100th time the hour by a bratty 11 year old. All from the dephts of depression of a lone dark damp room.

My point is that your post seems to imply games that have a social aspect to it cannot be good games, and thats false.
