How do I get Ayane in Dead or Alive 1 Ps1 - Pal Version?

I unlocked Raidou, got all the costumes (5 for males, Kasumi-14, Tina-15 and Lei-Fang-16) yet she's not playable.

Nope she debuts in DOA1 for PSX

Go to Options and put everything on Default (also Normal difficulty level). Then finish the game as Raidou once.

Now get out.

>Dead or Alive Ultimate 2, being a remake created after the debut of Dead or Alive 3, takes elements and mechanics from both its original iteration and successor. The action of 3D-axis movement is as free-formatted as DOA3, and Hitomi is now a playable character albeit outside story mode. Other elements have been kept intact from DOA2. These include higher damaging counters than in DOA3, environmental hazards not warranting a knockout on a character, and a counter mechanism that is much harder to execute. Despite being able to freely move on a 3D axis in the Ultimate version of DOA2 however, most moves cannot be sidestepped as in other 3D fighters, as well as in DOA3. Another major change is in the revamped holding system in DOA2. The final major set of changes instituted in Ultimate is the inclusion of slopes, which are a type of environmental hazard where those knocked down them roll down the slope, taking damage as they fall.
Interesting.

doa2u and doa2hc.
doa2u is basically a remake of doa2hc with a lot more outfits and playable hitomi.
for some odd reason you cant select tengu's stage in doa2u though.
my pic is from doa 2 online which is stripped down doa2u for pc. it didn't last long but this is the stage in question.

its also worth noting japanese doa2 ps2 (not hc) has a save file with nude kasumi playable as an outfit.

i last played it years ago but no, you need to be logged into a server to access all content. and even then its just a lobby with basic menus.
the in-game graphics seem worse than xbox version (theres no graphic options), but its hard to do a direct comparison.
here's an old lobby pic

also a vid about it

You can play as a nude Kasumi using a codebreaker code in HC...when you play as her in story mode, you get to the clone fight and you'll be nude...but once you win the game sorta locks up and you'll just be standing around with the clone beaten and have to reset the game.

Me, too, which is why I play DOA5 Ultimate because there's no reason to play the older games if you have that, since it's superior to all the old games...if I HAVE to play DOA2 it's going to be the Xbox version, though...I played the shit out of the PS2 version since it was my the reason I got a PS2, but it sits in a box forever now because it's obsolete.

There were multiple versions of DOA on PS2? Were they Japan only because in the US I only ever saw Hardcore...must have been like DOA 3 where the Xbox in Japan got a refined version, though we did get a costume disc thing.

I dunno man. This isn't like Soul or KOF where the characters actually have complex stories. I mean they do but they rarely shows in the actual game. DOA1 didn't have endings and even 2 and 3 basically would only have too second non ssequiters where nothing happens beyond the characters standing around or do something totally unrelated to anything.

Im a big fighting game story fag but DOA just doesn't really have it

>> No.4326629

I used to but Itagaki left so none of what he was building matters anymore...the story in NG3 and DOA 5 are abysmal, but the gameplay is good.

I mean really, I've experienced the whole story already and that's all there is...it ends with DOA 4 and it was pretty okay...so I just don't care anymore and play for the gameplay.

Now I do go back to the older games from time to time to play on the good stages, because DOA 5's stages are pretty shit compared to 2-4.

>> No.4327246

>>4326629
That's implying the story made sense in the first place. 5 is an improvement when compared to the barely-interesting story.

1 doesn't even have the benefit of a story outside specific quotes between certain characters while 2 story cutscenes doesn't make any sense unless you read the manual (Kasumi hunts clone > Hayabusa makes a vague mention of a promise to Kasumi, Ayane is angry at Kasumi > Kasumi is suprised by Hayate's sudden apearance).

It's barely better than Virtua Fighter's storyline.

If you're here you should be used to reading manuals for story...and if you play all the story lines and play all the games you get the full story just fine if you pay attention.

5's story was shit and I don't even remember it nor care since it forced you to play as certain characters instead of just giving everyone their own thing like it had always been.

DOA was always better when the story was minimal because it wasn't bogged down with as much stupid shit but was still interesting when you dug into it a bit, like with Souls games.
