CMR2 is a pretty solid port m8. I can agree with Mobil 1 being the shittiest rally port or Moto Racer 2 being one of the shittier ports overall. Also,

I love doing that. I play every retro racer with the D-Pad. It feels especially rewarding in games like Gran Turismo 2.

Meh, R4 has tons of polish so people think its great however you never see more than two cars on screen at once, so it had to have virtually zero challenge at all in order to be playable and winnable.
On top of that, RR64 had a lot more courses, genuine challenge and only slightly worse controls.not to mention graphics of about the same quality as R4 and cars that are unlocked via challenges, rather than R4s system where the worse you do, the worse your car is.

R4 merely has nice graphics and good controls. Its basically a tech demo...

I always liked F355 Challenge, even on Dreamcast which was way less immersive than the triple screen arcade version. So unforgiving but so rewarding once you get good (which could take a while since it's a sim).

>>4304770
Tbh you failed to highlight the one real problem with r4, having to lose on purpose to unlock all the cars is absolutely retarded.

As a kid who loved the aesthetic of Finland but also loved the Subaru Impreza (for no other reason than it being blue), I thought that it was near impossible to accurately steer in the snow.

My favourite was probably Italy, since my brothers and I were trying their hardest to set a record lap at home and we played that all the time. I think my oldest brother got down to around 43 seconds with his Seat Cordoba.
