Does this emulate well? Shit is like $500 used

>> No.4298159

There are pretty good sega cd emulators now but if you have a sega cd system just burn an image and play on native hardware. There's no copy protection.

Which blank discs run the best in sega cds? Is there a website with images files to burn games? Help a brother out.

I was having trouble with Snatcher so I just went to Walmart and bought Sony brand CDRs with the record vinyl fascia on top. They worked fine in my X'Eye but it does have a different laser, the same as Saturn.

Thanks, man. Have some shitty memorex discs im going to give a whirl. If they dont work i'll pick up your suggestion tomorrow. If this works, perpetual boner for life. Android Assault, Snatcher, Popful Mail, Robo Aleste. chyea chyea

Emulating games you don't own is also an act of piracy. Also Babbage's is like 40 and is fucking a smoking hot 19 year old.

>> No.4298407

>>4298185
Konami does not tell new copies of the game, physical or digital. There is no way for me to support the creators or publishers of this game financially by giving them money for it, no matter how much I might want to (I don't, fuck Konami) I don't really see how emulation is an issue here.

Literally any, burn at fastest speed, the 4x max thing is a meme.

>> No.4299873

I bought this game years ago on sega cd and still haven't played it because I don't own one. Shits too expensive.

>> No.4299885

Are there any complete translations of the PC Engine original? SCD is cool and all, but I kind of want to check out how it was when it first released, without censorship

>> No.4299902

>>4299873
That's just silly but nothing surprises me anymore since I am fully aware that even if you're not being ironic that was a good investment. I couldn't believe how much my X'Eye is worth when another thread prompted me to check it

>>4298282
I'm a huge miser but when it comes to buying blank CDs for burning games to, I've accepted paying 10x the price+ per disc versus the shit-tier spindle just to be sure. I can even justify it to my cheapskate heart that it's worth $1+ to play a rare game on real hardware and it's not worth 90 cents to fuck around with it.

>>4298435
Burning at slower speeds for sure results in better burns, at least on every burner I've ever used. You probably just use good enough media and fresh enough consoles not to notice the difference.

>> No.4299916

>>4299885
Original was on MSX and yes there is a translation patch for it.

>> No.4299931

My mistake, I don't know why I assumed PCE was the original. Maybe I confused "first CD release" with "first release". Has any work been done to translate the PCE release? I don't have an MSX

yeah its better to buy quality when it comes down to blank disks, i remember buying cheap 8cm dvd-r from aliexpress for my gamecube shit didnt work and they didnt want to refund but i bought some good tdk 8cm dvd-r instead and it worked perfectly

The differences between the PCE and Sega CD versions are very minor and both could be considered "censored". PCE has less gore, SCD has less nudity. The "torso" scene is extra gruesome in the SCD version vs any other version for some reason plus some other (very minor) differences. For example, I like the "blue light" Snatchers looking less like Terminators.

I'm not. I bought because I knew it would sky rocket in price. I still wanna play because I heard good things before hand, just haven't got around to getting a Sega CD

>> No.4300035

>>4300019
You could sell your copy, make a nice profit, and put some of it toward the purchase of a Sega CD... then burn a CD-R copy. Seriously why are you still holding on to it if you can't play it? Are you going to live in perpetual fear that it may still go up in price? That's no way to live, anon.

If Kojima himself was selling a used copy, would you buy it from him on the grounds of supporting the original creator? How much money would he have to charge before you decided to pirate it instead of buying it straight from him?

>> No.4301010

To actually fucking answer your question, Snatcher emulates great on Windows. I had no problems at all, really enjoyed the experience.

Pretty sure I used Gens.

I'd recommend finding a complete CD ROM rip, like the whole ISO, and not one of those versions that has many separate audio files.

Hope you enjoy your experience anon. Check back in if you have any trouble.

>> No.4301018

>>4301010
You want a .bin and .cue. It's .iso files that are just the data track and require separate files for the audio tracks.
