Kyokushin is not about breaking stuff, but it's the one that helped popularize it the most. The defining factor is that fights go without protection and are defined by knock-out, while for example Shotokan (the style in Olympic Games) is about hitting for points, so protection is used

That's why one stance is about standing still and moving forward (Ryu, Ken, etc) while another is with your feet apart so you can hit and go back (Makoto)

Sakura was great in vanilla, she just didn't get any players because she was console exclusive.

It was the same reason Fei Long was considered bad even though there was nothing wrong with him. The reason he became S tier in AE2011 was because that was the first chance for arcade players to actually play him. Because the arcades still matter in Japan and Korea.

I remember when Street Fighter Alpha 2 was in its field testing arcades around here. I think I gravitated to Sakura first after being a Guile main in SF2, because it was so easy to link her light attacks into any special/super move. However, I can never main Sakura for her lack of options and unsuitable to my play style. I do like using Sakura as my gauging character to see how good a player is, sadly in this video, both of us refused to use our mains because we believed they are counter picks to each other: https://youtu.be/tiBrDC7XUQ0

As a character I think she's cute, like a lot of the SF female characters. It was surprising to me back then to learn by cannon she was trained by Dan opposed to what I thought was her mimicking the Ryu she idolized.


The local Capcom owned arcade was so generous to help out in presenting their cabinets at a local show, and we made the mistake of giving out the rarer items for 3rd place than 2nd place items provided by Capcom for the Alpha 2 tournament they also took the opportunity to surprise us with a bonus new cabinet of Puzzle Fighter, cannot thank the locally owned Capcom arcade enough for that wonderful support.
