So Nintendo made the NES and SNES classic, what lineup would you like to see in a N64 classic system?

Since half the worthwile games on n64 were made by Rare, and since those will most likely not be available on the n64 classic because of copyright stuff, it kinda doesn't make sense to even produce one in the first place.

It wouldn't be at all. The NES mini (and likely SNES) are just off the shelf single-board computers running emulators. Ninty already has multiple in-house N64 emulators too.

If they had actually emulated the CPU via FPGA that would have been impressive and a real reason to get one. As it stands they're not anything more special than those shitty Chinese gamestation boxes you see all over ebay.

N64, maybe, if only because emulation continues to be hit-and-miss to this day. I'm still waiting for VBA GX to get an update improving some of its performance issues on the Wii. Everything works great on VBA for PC iirc, some games just have issues with framerates and slowdown on GX.

i think the N64 would sell at least decently. it has a pretty well defined library of only about 20-30 "essential" or "classic" games, and presumably most of those would be on the console, all in one place. that's an attractive option for many people, considering a lot of those games are crazy expensive currently, and prices are only going to go up if no retro console comes out. only problem is, almost half of those games would be third party, so i don't know how many nintendo could get ahold of.
i think after the potential n64, it should stop though. i don't think the gamecube is retro enough in the minds of the masses to have kitschy appeal the cartridge-based systems have, also most games are way easier to get ahold of.
