Half the reason I bought one at launch was because I felt that it would be a return to form for retro style games. Like an SNES part 2.

I have about four SPs now, three old flash cards, a smattering of games and some link cables. I was thinking about setting up some multiplayer games for the relatively unique multiplayer games available.

I still have an old EZF Advance that stopped working ages ago. I need to replace the rare battery in it to get it to work, but it almost seems like more hassle than its worth.

The autism here would never allow it. Despite the number of direct sequels and remakes to classic retro 2D games doesn't matter. While this is a video game board, the chief rule is autism above all else. And that includes above video games.
