Upper left is Sengoku Turb (pic related), this really great Dreamcast action RPG where you play a girl leading an army of cats to wage war against sheep people. It's a remake/sequel of a PC98 game, and the only thing related to Bio 100% to get a little bit more exposure. The art style and sense of humor alone make it worth playing, but the gameplay is really fun too once you get into that groove of upgrading all your troops and adapting to the weird action.

Bottom right is Germs: Nerawareta Machi, a very interesting open-world survival horror game on the PS1. The artwork doesn't have the name, sorry. First-person, rather unique controls, and a really cool surrealist body horror theme. Some people relate it to Deadly Premonition.

5/5, thanks for this. I've been curious about Metal Fighter Miku for a while. Is the gameplay actually fun, or is it more of a 'look at the flashy animations' game? I'm also interested in Doki Doki Pretty League. How in-depth is the training aspect?

Miku is a pretty standard VN-style adventure game, but the fights can be pretty cool once you wrap your head around it.
Training in DDPL is like a lot of management sims in that you pick a training regimen and hit start. It's got more bishoujo game character exposition than other sports management sims though, which gives it a slightly less cold and mechanical feel.

I've actually never played a sound novel, but Twilight Syndrome and Yuuyami Doori are amazing. Would you recommend any of those in particular? Is Baroque Syndrome actually any good?
>I was like wow cool what's 蒼魔灯 and I look it up and it's just another Deception game. Dammit, still gonna check it out anyway.
Yeah, sorry about that. The Japanese title and cover are just so much cooler. Either way I'm a huge fan of the Deception series all-around.
>>4228276
Sorry that the games I like seem to be different than the games you like, anon. Although aren't most of the games I posted relatively well-known on /vr/ anyway? I really don't see what the problem is.

7/7 I don't know what you mean by 'generic,' you just seem to like some really damn good games. I should probably play the Seiken Densetsu series eventually. For a long, long time I considered Vagrant Story the best RPG I ever played.

Well those are awesome games if you can read JP. Baroque Syndrome is above average for a PSX sound novel, especially if you like the Baroque games and want to see the precluding story to them. The best would be 夜想曲 死者の呼ぶ館 黒の十三 not in any particular order, but I would recommend the Yasoukyoku for a mix of light detective story with horror/suspense elements, Shisha no yobuyakata has a good story which changes with each playthrough, similar to 弟切草 Otogirisou which is a classic from the SFC days and also has changing scenarios. Some good ones for the SFC are 月面のアヌビス and ざくろの味. if you cant read japanese you should check out the Kamitachi no Yoru (Banshee's Cry in the translation) which they actually did a good job with. Outside of horror, 街 運命の交差点 is fucking amazing and one of the best sound novels out there, truly a master piece of a game, still better than the sequel which got a perfect score, despite being about the same or a little less than the original.

And holy shit have you play Yuuyami Dori? I have never met anyone on the internet or irl that is not Japanese that has played that game. It's one of my favorite games of all time. Still couldn't beat it after a bunch of play through because I always get killed by the spirits.

it's a Japanese Doom clone called Expert; where you play as an operative of the Expert Special Forces who would be dealing with a bunch of terrorists occupying a skyscraper. It's actually not half-bad as a doom clone and the game runs quite smoothly for all things considered. My only gripe is that you have a loadout of two of either weapons you can bring for each level. Been a while since i've played it though. might be a good time to revisit it
