The ones that slid on easier didn't last as long, from my experience. I would take my games to friend's often so mine were definitely used. I still don't get it. I used it all the time when i had my N64 and they weren't a problem. Is it that people here were too stupid to screw a fucking cable? All you had to do was hold it tight and start screwing, i still don't get how can a simple task like this get so many replies.

CRT threads are ok, there is much to discuss about TVs (topics i don't know anything about). But this is a fucking cable thread.

Seems pretty accurate to me. The best posters have had a vested interest in gaming spanning back to at least the 32-bit era and like to wax nostalgic about how the game industry was in the age of solid expansion packs, comprehensive manuals with detailed art and an overall high level of commitment, innovation and pride in their creations on the part of the devs.

3rd poster here. Intuitively, older games should have an older fanbase and thus a higher standard of discourse. I don't mean to be ageist but it's hard to argue with it if you've ever seen how an underage poster, uh, posts.

There's a little bit of bias however, if you're disillusioned with the current state of the game industry and prefer games from last decade, /vr/ will obviously seem more relevant than the other vidya boards.

As a rule:

/vg/ - New Vidya
/vr/ - Old Vidya
/v/ - Not Vidya

I hated those things. picture would be clear until the cable moves slightly. Not sure why my family still used them for so long.
