What have you found in the trash/thrift store /vr/? I was driving down the street and saw that someone dumped an old arcade cab into the trash. I immediately stopped and checked it out. The cab had been modified to hell and back to make room for a mame box but there were some salvageable parts.

I removed the coin door as seen here. It's a Williams door but I'm not sure what Williams game it was originally, the cab was fucked. Anyone have any idea?

I'm sure the reason why it hadn't been stripped before I got to it was because I was driving on a 1 way street when I saw it sitting on the curb behind a tree. Yeah, there are some interesting things that show up at thrift stores on the OSU campus. I used to cruise the curbs on the last day of classes but I haven't done that for at least 15 years I'd almost forgotten maybe I'll take it back up. It's funny that there was something like that in the middle of summer. Probably abandoned in a rental that's being cleaned up for fall. Unnecessary tripfagging is discouraged for a several reasons. Not least of which is that it comes across as attention whoring (it usually is, don't front) and invariably leads to bullshit, intended or not. Also a major point of everyone being anonymous is that you're less apt to judge the poster instead of the post. There are plenty of regular forums if you want drama queens and a post count.
Of course if tripfags bother you so much you can't deal, they make themselves trivial to filter.

One of the better features of 4chanx. It lets me filter ALL tripfaggots with a single regex. If you want, you can even automatically filter anyone who replies to them as well. Fuck knows they're never going to say anything useful, insightful, or intelligent. They wouldn't be attention whoring on an anonymous imageboard if they had anything of value to say.

So post on topic then or at least sage if your post is off topic. I'll never understand people who complain about what they're doing literally as they're doing it. I'm not your dad I'm not going to be disappointed in you if you don't shitpost.

I honestly can't think of anything I've ever found in people's trash that's video game related I just am super jealous of OP's tankstick as I've recently been putting serious thought into my mame cab and I might build one from scratch rather than converting the sente IF I had a cheap 6 or 8 button control panel versus drilling holes and wiring looms

We did used to throw away all kinds of great shit at Babbage's though. Not games, they went to that warehouse where they've sat all this time waiting to become retro, but tons of toys and paper goods plus quite a bit of imports, accessories and computer software. They still do it to this day but the definition of "field destruction" seems to have been tightened up a bit. Dumpsters have crushers built into them now.

I used to collect Dreamcast games back before ordering online was the norm. The EB Games at my local mall had two of the nicest guys ever working there. One was also a bit of a Dreamcast collector and decided to part with his copy of Shenmue II. I swiped it up faster than I could blink. The same guy also gave me his Gameshark CD/Memory card so I could boot it. He later sold me his black sports edition Dreamcast when mine crapped out. I miss that store.

In the same town there is a mom and pop electronics store that tried their best to liquidate their PC selection. I was able to pickup a perfect boxed copy of Die by the Sword for next to nothing. It even had the collectable pen-necklace in the box.

It's not anonymous, if that were the case it would be forced-anon.
You have the option not to put a name if you don't want.
We as users, as a subculture, decide socially that we prefer not to go with names, for the freedom it gives us in expression.
That's voluntary.
If some other people want to do something differently, say, have names, well that's just their fucking business, isn't it?
You have the right to not like them, but you don't have any right to force them to stop using a name.
If anything, by using a name it makes it easier to ignore them.
So try that: you worry about your own shitty behavior, and leave other people alone.

The reason I started tripfagging is because of the ever-increasing proportion of ignorant shitposters literally killing the board with idiotic, unrepentant flat out wrong posts.
